As a Director of Software Engineering, at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking and Self Directed & Automated Investing team, we are seeking a highly effective and innovative individual to lead our Self Directed & Automated Investing (SDAI) team in India and head Quality Assurance practice. You'll provide leadership and vision to our top-notch employees, helping develop, improve and drive our overall program. Your responsibilities will include providing coaching and mentoring as needed. You'll make sure we adhere to best practices and as part of our global technology group, you'll collaborate with some of the best technology minds in the industry to impact the product capabilities and quality of our technology solutions. Job responsibilities: - Leads technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives. - Accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures. - Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations. - Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains. - Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams. - Help team deliver quality product to our customers quickly. Improve quality across product features and capabilities. - Increase automation testing engagement and test coverage across all test types. Identify and drive team to address gaps in testing. - Be catalyst of culture change in testing: set, drive and report on quality KPIs. Influence business and tech teams to adapt effective shift-left best practices that increase quality of shipped product. - Coordinate, prioritize and guide test initiatives across product and technology platforms (web, mobile, services) - Launch learning and training programs. Participate in creation and sharing of QA standards and practices, influence larger organization on adaption of Shift-left. Engage teams in TrueCD parties. - Be a central point of escalation for issues and feedback to be actioned through product quality improvements: bugs, production issues, SRE (error rates, performance, reliability and resiliency Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 18+ years of work experience in leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists - Proficiency in Core Java, Spring, Cloud (private/public), Microservice based architectures. - General understanding or experience in Mobile native technologies for iOS and Android (Swift, Kotlin). General understanding or experience in Web technologies (Javascript, React), Micro Front Ends. - Deep understanding of quality assurance practices, Shift-Left strategies, automation and tooling. - Comprehensive knowledge of testing methodologies from a technical and business perspective. - Agile Testing Experience in an agile development environment (e.g., SCRUM/XP/Kanban) with experience writing/evaluating acceptance criteria for user stories/epics/initiatives. - Good understanding and advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines. - Proficiency in quality assurance and CI/CD toolsets. Expert in Agility practices, SDLC processes, CICD, application resiliency and security. - Experience in creating test automation with UI & API based automation frameworks. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value. - Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
