About CB Risk India: The CB Risk India (CRI) is part of the Credit Risk function for Commercial Bank (CB) at J.P. Morgan. MMBSI team is a part of CB Risk, which covers Government, Healthcare, Higher Education and Not For Profit (GHHN) borrowers based out of North America.
Role: Associate for Credit Risk Management in Middle Markets team (covering exposures generally over $10mm) supporting client with annual revenues generally between $50MM and $10BN
Location: Bangalore
Responsibilities:
- Portfolio management of the assigned portfolio of clients, in partnership with Underwriter based in the North America
- Independently prepare credit analysis on assigned portfolio of clients (covering macro overview, industry/sector, business, financial and credit analysis), completing Annual Grade Reviews for assigned portfolio and working on prospect coverage, new client onboarding, new product onboarding, renewals and modifications of existing facilities,
- Recommendation changes to credit ratings and amendments (credit facilities terms change)
- Support due diligence on capital market transactions for clients under coverage
- Assist in negotiating and finalizing documentation (credit agreements and amendments) for select clients in the Healthcare Higher Education and Not For Profit portfolio
- Developing strong working knowledge and tracking clients/sectors related to GHHN industries on an on-going basis and updating key stakeholders on material developments w.r.t. their clients/ industry and potential ratings impact
- Building strong relationships and maintaining open communication with colleagues from various LOBs including Underwriters, Bankers, Operations, Middle Office, etc. Independently handling all calls/rating discussions with Underwriters and Credit Executives
- Keep updated on Credit ecosystem - Tools & Applications, Policies, Procedures, Guidelines required to perform the Credit Analysis of clients
- Being current on all firm-wide risk policies; and ensuring all governance, reporting and data quality requirements are met and maintained for client and client families
- Work timings: Start India 1 PM time to provide coverage to US team members
Qualifications: MBAs (with Finance specialization) / CAs
- 4-6 years of experience in credit risk analysis - Credit Transactions (Prospects/New clients, new facilities, amendments, etc.), annual reviews
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build positive relationships with Underwriters
- Excellent academic record; experience in credit risk Strong grasp of corporate finance concepts and their application
- Understanding of the financial statements, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and basic accounting standards
- Aptitude to learn and develop knowledge on credit analysis techniques, sectors and global economies
- Strong communication skills - both oral and written; ability to effectively present analysis and interact with global credit bankers
- Timeline orientation; close attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel and Power Point
