- Exposure to End to End Project Management Activities - Understand and apply key principles of project management to participate/lead a change initiative or business expansion (e.g., scope statement, identifying key stakeholders, project roadmaps, develop process maps, identify key issues/risks / dependencies, timeline) - Participate in/drive various phases of a project life cycle (i.e., Initiate, Plan, Execute, Monitor / Control, Close) and ensure compliance with legal / state / federal / country regulations - Drive requirements, changes, gather test cases, audit and govern user acceptance testing - Build project plans that appropriately address issues and root causes analysis - Conduct or assist in deep dives/process reviews / gap analyses - Prevent, minimize, diagnose and remedy operating, legal and compliance risk issues including data quality issues, technology gaps, processing errors and fraud - Participate in cost/risk and benefit analysis on multiple approaches to determine best solution - Manage the coordination and tracking of the prioritized list of initiatives within program(s) to address the business needs Project and Stakeholder Management: - Act as a communication channel for ongoing project management status and issues to ensure timely updates to stakeholders, set business expectations and lead to completion - Engage the right resources (content /subject matter experts) and build relationships to meet the project goals - Work with the business (Ops, Risk, Control, etc.) or technology (if applicable) teams to drive requirements, process improvement changes, gather test cases, audit and govern user acceptance testing - Ensure key deliverables are on track, monitor outstanding action plans, escalate when needed and ensure plans are completed within agreed upon target dates - Participate or lead in analyzing data trends for root cause analysis and effectiveness of risk remediation effort - Develop, document and present control related action plans and track / monitor to closure Documentation: - Create artifacts for projects, change initiatives or business expansions, audit or compliance reviews and share with management and key business partners (e.g. project charters, process maps, meeting minutes, projects tasks, risk and issue logs to identify risk & control implications, scorecards, meeting decks) - Track, analyze, report and address project issues, identify, document and vet potential solutions - Develop management summary materials and presentations that highlight key risks, impacts of errors and status of controls environment - Prepare and participate in audit or compliance reviews, which includes creating, presenting materials, testing and following up on action plans - Extract and report on key outstanding issues and action plans using the firm-wide operational risk framework, ensuring management visibility - Technical tools that may be used: Microsoft Office products, SharePoint, Tableau, Op-Risk and/or project management tools such as: Optics, iGraphx, Signavio - Aid in the development or enhancement of robust control self-assessments (CSAs) to identify and quantify operational risks and assess adequacy of controls In addition to the above, analysts' regular duties should include a combination of the following opportunities below: - Communicating with internal stakeholders and constituents without direct supervision or advance review - Synthesizing data and recommending a particular course of action on matters with real operational or financial impact to the Firm, e.g., policy or process enhancements; or - Managing independent workstreams, including making decisions about prioritization, strategic direction and resource allocation The following may also be a part of the role, but are not, in themselves, sufficient: - Gathering and summarizing information - Preparing presentations or communications that are subject to significant review and revision - Day-to-day communications that are limited to immediate working group/supervisor, with expectation that any communications to other stakeholders or internal constituents will be carefully vetted in advance - Tracking deliverables/milestones on a project JPMorgan Chase & Co., one of the oldest financial institutions, offers innovative financial solutions to millions of consumers, small businesses and many of the world's most prominent corporate, institutional and government clients under the J.P.
