Market Risk is an independent risk group within Risk Management, reporting to the Firm's CRO, which measures, monitors and controls market risk. Market risk management seeks to facilitate efficient risk/return decisions, reduce volatility in operating performance and ensure that the firm's market risk profile is transparent to senior management, the Board of Directors and regulators.




Market Risk Regulatory & Policy works closely with the Market Risk teams aligned to each Line of Business and other partner teams including Risk Reporting, Risk Policy, Compliance, Legal Entity Risk,, Product Control, Market Risk Middle Office,, Business Control, Audit, Risk Oversight & Control, Risk Reporting and external regulators to set Market Risk policy/other guidance, establish a consistent governance framework for Market Risk (both at the enterprise wide and at the level of legal entities) across the firm, share best practices across LOB Market Risk teams in line with regulatory and management requirements .

Description :

Market Risk Regulatory and Policy team is seeking a candidate to support the team's effort to progress the firm's Office of Legal Obligations (OLO) initiative and related/ongoing firmwide and legal entity specific market risk documentation, disclosures and other governance requirements.

- The OLO, is a mandate undertaken under the auspices of the Operating Committee (OC) and spearheaded by the Risk Compliance function, involves extensive involvement by Market Risk (and other Risk and Compliance functions) on an ongoing basis.


 


- The OLO effort is targeted towards the review of regulatory requirements, across 24 countries (and growing), impacting the regional legal entities, to assess impact on Market Risk, validate mapping of relevant documentation to confirm compliance with relevant requirements and to highlight any potential procedural and/or documentation gaps along with appropriate remediation plans.

- The initiative involves ongoing daily/weekly meetings with OLO program teams to review regulatory Obligations (LOs) published by Legal, assess impact on Market Risk by LE and LOB, drafting appropriate responses documenting Market Risk's compliance with the LO (in consultation with relevant subject matter experts as appropriate) while accurately referencing relevant documentation. In addition, the initiative also involves regular reviews of changes to existing LOs, as released by relevant regulators, or newly drafted guidance.

Key Responsibilities :

- The successful candidate will partner across Market Risk functional areas (Capital, Stress, VaR, E-Trading, etc), Market Risk Legal Entity Coverage, LOB Market Risk teams, to validate ownership, delineation of appropriate responses and finalization of documentation mappings.

- The candidate will manage the day to day OLO administrative processes including management of requirements within designated systems (for response/documentation tracking purposes) and track deliverables/manage OLO team deadlines.

- The candidate will coordinate with their manager, based in New York, daily on the book of work, proposed responses, related documentation including upcoming deadlines and evolving OLO requirements.

- The candidate will be expected to create presentations on OLO messaging/metrics for management review/approval as required and also support their management's specific/ongoing updates to market risk guidance and publication on internal portals as appropriate.

Skills & Experience :

- Experience in Risk Management preferred.

- Ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities, work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.

- Self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, innovation, and solid problem solving skills. Confidence to drive issues through to completion often working to tight deadlines.

- Confident in understanding requirements, noting issues and escalating to management as needed

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a strong track record of partnership

- Strong process and control mindset

- Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience in Risk
