Corporate - Model Risk Governance &amp; Review - Project Manager - Associate Job Description The Model Risk Governance and Review (MRGR) provides oversight of the firm wide Model Risk policy, guidance with respect to a model's appropriate usage, and conducts independent reviews of models. MRGR is composed of three distinct units: Model Review Group (MRG), Model Governance Group (MGG), and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) group. - Model Governance is responsible for day-to-day management of model risk, such as ensuring that models are governed by the appropriate policies and procedures, that they are subject to performance review, and that their use includes appropriate operating controls (e.g. access, change control). - Model Review Group (MRG) serves as an independent model validation function that reviews and approves a wide range of models, including risk management, valuation, and certain regulatory capital models used by the firm. - The Chief Operating Officer office is tasked with coordination, planning, and execution of regulatory, control, audit, and corporate risk initiatives and deliverables. Position Overview: The primary role of the Project Manager is to facilitate, track, and manage the model review process from start to finish, working closely with model development and review teams. The role will directly support the MRGR Review coordinator and indirectly support the Model Review Leads and Principals on model remediation projects and regulatory deliverables. Relationship building, problem-solving, and effective communication skills are critical to this role. Responsibilities - Work with model reviewers to ensure that model review process data is accurate - Prepare book of work meeting materials for weekly meetings with review leads and principals - Track, manage, and follow up on issues and action items raised in regular meetings - Proactively manage future deadlines to ensure target dates are on track - Respond to requests to validate review process status and milestone dates - Update resource capacity tracker as required; raise capacity concerns in advance to facilitate planning - Support non-model review lead as required with project related activities - Support business management with budget/forecast and workforce reporting as required - Effectively engage project teams, technology teams, model validation teams and Senior Management, as appropriate - Effectively communicate and manage project expectations to program managers, sponsors, team members and other stakeholders in a clear and concise fashion Qualifications - Bachelors or Master's (preferred) degree in Finance/Business/Economics or in Computer/Information Systems/Financial Engineering - 3+ years of relevant experience in project management preferably related to risk management, model validation or compliance in a large bank - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - Strong relationship building skills - Strong MS PPT skills - Strong Excel skills (VBA and experience building macros is a plus) - Strong familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, etc. - Risk &amp; Control mindset. - Business analytical experience: ability to synthesize data and consolidate, as appropriate - Excellent problem solving skills - Strong attention to detail - Strong written and oral communication skills - Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks - Ability to manage multiple, virtual, global work streams - Proactive independent and self-managing - Team work oriented - Must be able to manage activities against the project plan
