About the Associate Role in Corporate Client Banking and Specialized Industries: Main responsibilities: Team management and mentoring: Review priorities &amp; manage team expectations proactively; become a mentor for the juniors in the team and help them develop the right skill sets by reviewing their work; provide clear guidance to the team to maximize efficiency ensuring a steep learning curve for the juniors. Should provide initial formal training and ensure smooth transition/ hand-over during exits Identify Opportunities: Track a select list of JPMorgan's priority clients and prospects to work together with the Vice-Presidents to evaluate potential financing opportunities across the entire range of solutions and services offered by JPMorgan. Project management: Associate should comprehend projects with a high level of accuracy &amp; display a strong understanding of the deliverables. Engage proactively with client executives to understand client perspective and make new suggestions regarding analysis, slides or provide a new perspective for idea generation and automation. Should be especially capable of maintaining databases and drawing meaningful insights from the same. Communication &amp; Training: Maintain regular value-added contact with client bankers and staffers in the appropriate geography both proactively and in response to specific requests with a clear distinction between fact, informed opinion and uninformed opinion (hunch). Engage proactively with gatekeepers/staffers for feedback discussion, conflict management etc. Inculcate best practices with frequent training and insight sessions. Pitch/ Presentation: Prepare marketing materials for clients including components like market and industry landscapes, credit databases, financial analysis, credit structure, liquidity &amp; debt benchmarking etc. Produce client-ready output which is crisp and relevant and is accompanied with well-structured presentations. Sector Coverage: Build deep expertise and insight on specific sectors such as Oil &amp; Gas, Entertainment and Real estate that can be leveraged by bankers for maintaining and initiating new client relationships and generate high quality reports that highlight emerging trends and suggest possible courses of action. Compliance: Ensure the highest international ethical standards and regulatory compliance within the team. Essential skills / qualifications: - Total work experience of 3-4 years post qualification preferably in research / investment banking / consulting - MBA from top Tier school/ or professional qualification in Accountancy/Finance - Ability to deliver high-quality client ready output which can be presented to very senior members (Senior MD, ED) of the team with minimal inputs from onshore bankers - Ability to generate proprietary ideas across the entire range of solutions offered by J.P. Morgan Investment Banking Division - Should be passionate about the banking space; experience with credit/ debt related products - Very good awareness of Corporate banking solutions and services - Close attention to detail and ability to deliver output of a very high standard under pressure - Strong knowledge of corporate valuation &amp; modelling - Strong communication skills - Hands on experience on MS Office suite products especially power point presentation skills
