Role Description:

As the Head of Collections, you'll be responsible for optimizing the recovery process for our lending products. In this role, you will manage a team of collections professionals and develop strategies to minimize delinquencies and maximize recoveries. You will play a crucial role in safeguarding the company's financial health while ensuring a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collections Strategy: Develop and implement effective collections strategies to minimize loan delinquencies and optimize recovery rates, leveraging data analytics and technology

- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of collections professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement

- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze key performance metrics, such as delinquency rates, recovery rates, and team productivity, and take corrective actions when necessary

- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all collections activities adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices

- Technology and Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance collections processes through the adoption of technology, automation, and process improvements

- Customer Experience: Prioritize a customer-centric approach to collections, maintaining open lines of communication with borrowers and exploring customer-friendly repayment options

- Reporting and Analytics: Generate regular reports and analysis on collections

performance, presenting findings to senior management and making data-driven

recommendations

- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with third-party collection agencies and vendors, ensuring they adhere to company standards and performance metrics.

- Risk Assessment: Collaborate with teams to assess & manage portfolio risk effectively

Requirements:

- 3-8 yrs of experience in collections and debt recovery within the financial services industry, with a proven track record of achieving targets

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a history of building and developing high-performing teams

- Excellent understanding of Indian financial regulations and compliance requirements related to collections

- Proficiency in data analysis and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies

- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills

- Familiarity with the latest collection software and tools

- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving startup environment

- A strategic mindset with the ability to think creatively and solve complex problems
