Janaagraha - Chief Technology Officer

We are looking for a highly passionate, driven and competent individual to be based out of Bengaluru to lead Janaagraha's work in advancing the use of technology in urban governance and civic engagement. What will the Chief Technology Officer do?

Build and deliver strongly on the strategy for integrating technology in governance

- Study, evaluate and integrate current and potential tech developments in the strategy for civic technology at Janaagraha

- Build roadmaps to massively scale the usage of current technology platforms and products between citizens, civic officials and elected representatives

- Lead the catalysing of partnerships and relationships to deliver on the goals and mission of enhancing citizen engagement with city governments

- Engineer a learning and innovation environment for civic technology, including civic data and insights

- Oversee system design and architecture

- Represent the civic technology agenda internally and externally

- Develop, manage and optimise budgets for civic technology platforms and products

- Keep abreast of new trends and innovations in the technology space

Lead the management of the civic technology team

- Build and nurture a high performing technology development team

- Develop and publish periodic performance metrics and dashboards; maintain high performance standards

- Enable strong project planning and monitoring systems with regular data and status dissemination and timely escalations

- Lead innovation and adoption of best practices in the team

- Manage vendors. Consultants as required to fulfil strategy and goals

- You will report to the Head, Civic Participation (?..based on role in CP/Jana)

Qualifications and Experience

- Must have 10+ years of experience in building web based applications and large scale systems.

- Must have 5+ years of management experience building and managing teams and delivering quality products.

- Must have in depth knowledge of systems architecture, design, coding and deployment.

- Familiarity with technology solutions used in urban governance is a plus.

- Experience working in Civic Technology is a big plus

- Degrees in Computer Science preferred.
