Role overview:

Loka Ahlinn is a national NGO that works on community development and rights. Working closely with and guided by the head of the organisation and its senior management team, the VSO volunteer will:

Support implementation of the organisational development implementation plan, including:

- Support to planning processes

- On-the-job mentoring

- Monitoring and feedback, including any necessary adjustments to the plan

Leave key organisational development skills behind:

- Build the skills of the senior management team on organization development and strategic planning

- Organize training and provide support for individual capacity building of staff on identified needs

- Although this is an advisory role, the volunteer will be expected to do some hands-on work.

- Volunteers will be expected to work independently, and work with limited resources.

Skills, qualifications and experience required

- You are highly experienced (min 5-7 years exp) in organisational development, ideally in an NGO setting

- You have good working understanding of organisational behaviour analysis, and proven organisational and people-management skills

- This volunteer should have the initiative to take ideas forward and sometimes to work independently, whilst bearing in mind that partner staff should be involved in the work as much as possible

- Adaptability is a key to living and working in Myanmar

- At the personal level, the volunteer will have to make major adjustments simply to live and work in a different culture and environment. Volunteers need to demonstrate and practice cultural sensitivity

What we offer:

This is a volunteer role with financial support by VSO. We support you by offering Home country funded allowance, medical insurance, travel costs, accommodation and an allowance to cover your basic living expenses while overseas according to the destination country.
