VSO is the world's leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries.
VSO Swaziland- health programme key focus is to increase access and utilization of quality mother, neonatal and child health services and its Livelihood key focus is to enhance capacity of the rural poor (prioritising women and people living with HIV and AIDS) to have food security and sustainable income in VSO's priority geographical areas.
In this regard, VSO Swaziland is taking part in the implementation of the Swedish funded project which is being implemented in six countries of Southern Africa. The proposed programme will simultaneously empower women through raising awareness on sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR), improving access to comprehensive health services, and supporting income-generating activities (IGAs) to alleviate poverty.
Role Overview :
For VSO Swaziland, the implementing partner is Baphalali Swaziland Red Cross Society (BSRCS). The emphasis of this position will depend on the key objectives of the local partner. VSO Volunteer will play a key role by supporting BSRCS in capacity building and mentoring with regards to Sexual Reproductive Health activities and will play a key role in ensuring that project activities are implemented according to plan.
- Strengthen current monitoring and evaluation practices and support the partner organisation to develop integrated monitoring and evaluation systems
- Assist build the capacity of personnel collecting, collating, analyzing, synthesizing and disseminating data and introduce effective data collection approaches
- Support the development of guidelines and tools on monitoring and evaluation and deliver training workshops
- Training and mentoring on SRH and HIV/AIDS related issues
Skills, qualifications and experience required :
An Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (a Masters degree is desirable); with 3 years- experience in designing, managing and/or implementing MEL systems and tools; Substantive experience in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; and has Knowledge and experience of basic and advanced computer programmes : MS word, excel, access, PowerPoint, SPSS, stata and epi info etc.

- Experience in developing well-tailored intervention strategies to suit rural communities.
- Experience for donor funded projects targeting the marginalized poor
