VSO is the world's leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. VSO has been working in Ghana since 1958. Since its establishment in the country, a total of about 1500 international volunteers and 63,000 national volunteers have supported 851 community-based, district as well as state partner organizations in 90 out of 230 districts and building capacity in education, disability, governance and secure livelihoods. Their high-impact approach brings people together to share skills, build capabilities, promote international understanding and action to change lives and make the world a fairer place.

VSO has extended its recruitment program to India through its partner iVolunteer Overseas (iVO). iVO gives qualified and experienced professionals the unique opportunity to work in countries in great need for their skills.

Role overview

The post of Fundraising Support Officer, in close collaboration with the Programme management team at VSO Ghana, will proactively support the development of winning proposals around innovative programmes and delivering targets in line with the Country Funding plan and the Country Strategic Plan.

The role has opportunities to work closely with the VSO Africa Fundraising team to identify calls that are aligned to the Country’s Strategy from local and international funding partners.

Skills, qualifications and experience required

- Bachelors degree in marketing or social sciences

- Proven professional track record in raising funds for an organization of similar scope and size as VSO Ghana

- Knowledge and understanding of volunteering systems in developing countries, preferably of Ghana

- Keen understanding of varied fundraising techniques
