Role overview

- You'll work at the University of Rwanda College of Education in Kigali (formerly Kigali Institute of Education).

- The main purpose of the job is to support a consultant.

- Together you'll coordinate and contribute to the development of teaching materials for the new Early Childhood Education (ECE) course in Teaching Training Colleges (TTC's).

- You'll increase university students’ knowledge of practical play-based, learner-centred early-childhood methodologies.

- You'll train tutors in developing materials and how to use the materials in an interactive and learner-centred way.

Skills, qualifications and experience required:

- Bachelor degree in Education Early childhood (at least education for children aged 4-6 years old)

- At least 3 years professional experience in pre-primary teaching

- Proven experience of sharing learning with others and delivering professional development through workshops

- Experience in structured interaction with parents

- Able to conduct a needs analysis and monitor and evaluate projects and report results in on-line platform

- Ability to work with limited resources, flexibility and adaptability

What we offer:

- In term of financial support VSO will give home-country funded allowance, travel costs, accommodation and an allowance to cover your basic living expenses while overseas according to the destination country.
