Asset Management & Procurement Support Officer (VSO Ghana)

Accra, Ghana

VSO is the world's leading independent international development organisation that works through volunteers to fight poverty in developing countries. VSO has extended its recruitment program to India through its partner iVolunteer Overseas (iVO). Volunteers recruited by VSO are placed in developing countries across Africa and Southeast Asia on a wide range of niche projects.

Role overview

To review Country Office Asset Register identifying gaps and making recommendation to make it more comprehensive, Set up systems for its continuous and effective management working with Programme Support teams in Accra and Tamale office.

Specifically the volunteer's role and responsibilities will include:

1. To review the current country office assets register to identify gaps in the light of VSO’s assets register policy

2. Work with staff to fill these gaps

3. Coach staff on effective assets register development, maintenance and monitoring

4. Develop relevant systems, tools for the continuous building, and monitoring of the assets register.

5. Develop a preferred supplier list for the programme office with support of staff and how to maintain this

Skills, qualifications and experience required

The ideal candidate should be familiar with the development and management of Assets Registers and should be able to coach Programme Support teams to develop enhanced assets register and how to effectively manage this. The candidate should be able fit and work well in a team and have ability of developing simple systems and tools
