Domain Expert Planning- SCM
Purpose - Why does this role exist?
- Bring Domain expertise in fulfilment of SCM projects
- Ensure selection, design and deployment of the right SCM solutions & products
- Define appropriate solution design across the entire Order to Cash (O2C) cycle
- Design & develop Process Templates across O2C environment
- Proactively anticipate, understand future supply chain specific needs of organization
- Define and select appropriate digital tools to improve the SCM efficiency in the organization
- Assist in building roadmaps for creating advanced solutions in SCM area with the SME
- Ensure faster execution schedules & enable quicker / smooth adoption
- Ensure Audit compliance
Key Result Areas (Key Performance Indicators)
A professional at this position level has the following responsibilities
Strategy and Planning:
- Define Selection criteria for SCM solutions & create a mid-term / short term execution plan
- Provide domain expertise to define/ design and develop process designs / templates
- Define suitable solutions to improve efficiency and productivity
- Define and deploy solution which will enable quicker receipts, handling and dispatch of various goods
- Participate & Guide in Critical Process Discussions, Integration aspects with Business
- Identify opportunities to digitize the existing processes, deploy latest industry 4.0 solutions
- Identify optimization tools to improve SCM processes
- Participate in Special Interest Groups in India and abroad to remain abreast of the latest technology
Project Execution:
- Provide domain expertise to the project manager in creating a Project Charter / plan
- Successful execution of SCM projects undertaken by this role
- Interact with business stakeholders to finalize process design
- Ensure process quality in SCM
- Design Cross Functional Integration
- Update SME during project tenure on quality of processes
- Ensure zero time and cost escalations
- Participate in regular review meetings & drive domain specific implementation
- Identify possible risks & participate in making of a mitigation plan for process gaps
- Adopt / tweak Best Practice Process Libraries
- Adopt Industry 4.0 solutions like OR based optimizers, linear programs, algorithms and other digital / automation tools
Operations Management:
- Prepare methods for Successful knowledge transition for operations team
- Impact analysis of any changes in the implemented environment
- Drive functional upgrades in implemented solutions like SAP
- Manage implementation of bug fixes in the implemented solutions
Relationship Management:
- Liaison with other domain experts / project managers / stake holders
- Influence and Inform key project sponsors and stakeholders on new process designs & overall SCM processes
- Engage with SCM experts / forums like SIG (Special Interest Groups)
People Management & Budgeting:
- Responsible for aligning overall team resources / business teams in standardization & implementation of processes
- Provide inputs to SME towards budgeting of new solutions / products / processes
Critical Tasks

1. Design & develop Process Templates across common business processes
2. Ensure faster execution schedules & enable quicker / smooth adoption
3. Coordinate with Solution Architect / SME & COE Head - to ensure the decisions are in line with defined Enterprise Architecture designs
Educational Background and Work Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in any stream (Functional stream is preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 5 years of experience in managing SCM domain
