IT Architect - Infrastructure

Purpose of the Job:

- Define & maintain the IT infrastructure architecture & solution portfolio in line with the Global Solution Inventory (GSI)

- Design and/or validate the infrastructure solution blueprint(s) for WE/CEE IT/IS projects in collaboration with the outsourcing partners & IT/IS project suppliers

- Manage the installed infrastructure capacity. Validate & approve capacity extensions and changes. Manage RFQ process to deliver new capacity to Datacenter

- Collaborate with Global peers to maintain the Global Solution Inventory (GSI)

- Recommend innovative & new technology solutions based on close market follow-up

- Be the zone Center of Competence for all IT infrastructure related items and issues specifically for Datacenter scope

- Support IT Demand Manager and IT Project managers with Architecture Related aspects and issues.

Accountabilities:

- Accountable for infrastructure standards portfolio & its alignment with Global

- Represents the zone in the Global Solution Inventory decision body - is accountable for architecture alignment within Europen Datacenter scope with global strategy & architecture

- Liaises IT Infrastructure and Application Services with System and Business Owners to understand Business needs and provide appropriate Solutions:

Discuss Datacenter IT infrastructure constraints with System owners,

Analyse & decide on needs with IT Infrastructure

- Help shaping adequate IT Infrastructure projects for zone & local business initiatives:

Translate business needs into IT infrastructure solutions,

- Issues recommendations on ITIS strategy based on technology evolution and perceived needs within IS/IT Services and the business

- Manages hardware capacity process in Datacenter jointly with Outsourcing partners and approves changes and initiates required capacity extensions projects

- Define technology and infrastructure solution roadmap in Datacenter. Propose new technology and potential innovation technology for Datacenter implementation

- Provide input to Budget preparation process and 3YP cycle

- Supports Business case preparation process, TCO for technology and solutions

- Raises Request for Quotes (RFQ) to IT hardware suppliers and evaluates quotes

Qualifications & Technical Competencies Required:

Education

Engineering/Technical University degree Level or equivalent through experience,

Experience:

- Minimum 10 years in IT Infrastructure roles

- Experience as Infrastructure Architect

- Experience in IT infrastructure project management

Qualifications & Technical competencies:

- Deep knowledge of datacenter technologies, storage & hardware platforms, Vmware, AIX, ESX, IBM pSeries, Windows, Active Directory, Citrix, Windows Server, XIV

- Deep knowledge of networking & security technologies, firewall, WAN, WAN optimisation

- Good knowledge of database technologies eg Oracle, SQL

- Good knowledge of Application architecture

- Excellent understanding of IT market trends and innovations

- Excellent understanding of the Services management processes and IT Provider services,

- Excellent IT IS analytical skills

- Delivery and - Make it happen- minded

- Excellent organizational- and time management skills

- Ability to perform in stressful conditions

- Good business case knowledge

- Excellent Communication skills

- Knowledge of foreign languages (English, French, German, - )
