IPG has a Finance & Accounting Shared Services Centre in Mumbai, providing services to network agencies in India and other APAC countries - Lowe Lintas, FCB Ulka, McCann World Group, Media Brands and IPG Dxtra, Huge, R/GA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Assistant Manager will manage activities related to period-end closing & reporting, Statutory accounting across agencies.

Responsibility includes managing day-to-day operations, assisting the R2R Senior Manager with workload management, supervising associates in transaction processing, and conducting data & process analysis as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Review, approve and ensure compliance of the following:

Closing checklist

Account reconciliation

Adjustment JE's

Support provided to Agency Local Finance - Financial statement preparation, Consolidation of data / schedules, Hyperion reporting, GAAP Conversion, Statutory Accounting, Mandatory and ad-hoc reporting

Statutory and Tax Audits

Other activities:

- Ensure the financial controls are in-place and effective across the Shared Services Centre (SSC)

- Manage internal and external audit process when necessary

- Report monthly operations performance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement in Power point

- Provide enhanced level of customer service to external groups (IPG network agencies)

- Manage document archiving process

- Drive process improvements and efficiency ensuring common processes are applied to all agencies and leading practices are adopted through staff training and system enhancements

- Ensure processes operate within the Group's Sarbanes Oxley programme and Standard Policy and Procedures.

- Provide valuable feedback to staff through annual performance appraisals and goal settings program

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Education Qualification - Chartered Accountant

7+ years of work experience in a similar role

Experience in Advertising industry preferred

knowledge of business and financial SOX controls and procedures

Knowledge of statutory requirements in relation to period-end closing & reporting and Statutory reporting

Preparation of financial statements as per statutory requirements

Reconciliation of Income between Indian GAAP and US GAAP

Liaising with multiple stakeholders such as Auditors, Finance Controllers, applicable SSC teams, etc. for successful conduct of audits as per preset timelines

Ability to provide high level of customer service for the R2R process

Strong written and oral communications skills in English

Strong problem solving and organizational skills

Strong Team Management and Customer engagement skills

Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change

Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Ability to work independently, efficiently and deliver high quality output under time pressure

Ability to complete allocated tasks on time and accurately

Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Experience in ERP - SAP/Oracle based Accounting systems, Financial Consolidation via Hyperion, etc.
