Investment Manager

As Investment Manager you will be part of the based in Gurgaon, India. You will work closely together with the program managers, as well as with investment officers of (development) banks, and key staff from the supply chain companies. You will report to the Chief Investment Officer.

Your key responsibilities will be in the following areas:

1. Client origination, deal structuring and monitoring

As Investment Manager you will be responsible, with the entire Fund team, for implementing the strategy of the Fund. The role centers around deal origination, structuring and execution, whereby you will target value chain companies (commodity traders, input suppliers etc), Agri SME, fintech companies and Financial Institutions. Overtime you will build up an investment portfolio, which you will monitor and report on. You will maintain relationships with existing clients on a senior level and will work closely together with the Fund team abroad and the India team. You will be primarily targeting the India market and a limited number of other Asian countries as well.

2. Strategy and product development

Within the team you will participate in the development of innovative blended finance structures, that contribute on delivering the Fund's objectives. Also, you will be involved in strategy development and implementation for the company.

3. External representation

- External representation of the company and the Fund on (blended) finance related topics, and present the Fund to various stakeholders, such as investors, partners, and international institutions.

- You drive an investment agenda which engages partners and stakeholders towards next-stage investment solutions in market transformation. You support the program teams with strategic knowledge, business-development and fund-raising to drive quality and impact in the programs.

- In addition, you will be responsible for review & update investment and operational strategy of Fund, acquisition of new contributors, management of relationships with existing contributors, as well as produce the Fund's marketing materials, brochures, publications etc.

Requirements:

- 7+ years of relevant working experience, in a role as investment manager in an investment firm, bank or relevant consulting firm;

- Deep knowledge and expertise in international commodity supply chains, corporate sustainability (environmental and social issues), and the reality of developing & emerging economies;

- Strong networks in financial institutions and the world of impact investors/donors;

- Working and thinking at M.Sc. level;

- Fluency in English and a second and third language is a plus.
