- Investment Tracker Pipeline (10%)
a. Populate tracker with any opportunities that suit the corporate philosophy
b. Ad - hoc requests brought to them by the GC IC and other senior members
c. Ensure tracker is updated and circulated 24 hours ahead of meetings along with Agenda
Weekly GC IC Meetings (20%)a. Prepare weekly Agenda
b. Prepare & circulate GC IC Meeting Discussion Pack which should include:
- Agenda
- Pertinent supporting docs/slides for each agenda point
- Should detail if it is for information only, decision making, update
- Any investment analysis notes
- Monitoring Update
- Detail the current value of any portfolio investments that have been made
- Updated Tracker
a. Pack should be circulated at least 36 hours before meeting so it can be read.
b. Ensuring that the meeting happens and everyone in committee is in attendance.
c. Making notes and following up on actionable with respective people.
- Investment Analysis (30%)All investments will form a 3 stage process where the following notes will need to be prepared:
- Stage 1: Briefing Note
- A 1 - 2 pager to highlight the opportunity and whether further work should be prepared
- Stage 2: Investment Analysis Note
- A more detailed note with in depth analysis, Financial modelling
- Stage 3: Board Decision Note
- Summary of Investment Analysis Note to present to the board for decision making
- Should include the negotiated Term Sheet for investment
- Analyze and prepare notes for all identified opportunities, with an opinion on whether to proceed or not as per the above detailed scope.
- A template should be made and followed to keep the information concise, which at minimum should contain:
- Company Overview (History, Operational Details, Ownership Structure, Key Shareholders, Decision Maker, Related Parties)
- Financial Summary (Historical, Projections
- Market Segment Analysis ()
- Returns Analysis (IRR, MOIC, CAGR, ROC, ROCE, etc.)
- Risks & Challenges
- Key Issues
- Next Steps
- Assist with due diligence and other analyst requirements when a project is selected for further progress.
- Standardize and keep updating the format of the investment note and term sheet which is suited best for quick action and decision making
- Investment Monitoring (10%)a. Monitor the value of any investments made and provide valuation updates in the
- Financing (20%)a. Desktop research to find out who we should reach out to for funding:
- Banks/Financial Institutions
- Government Bodies
- Institutes/Organizations: Grant Programs
b. Have an introductory call and setup further meetings as needed
- Industry Research (10%)a. As part of investment analysis and also separately do industry wide research and relevant market sizing
