Vice President - One District One Product
Role Description:
Responsible for leading the strategic direction, execution, and expansion of the ODOP initiative, aimed at fostering balanced regional development across India by promoting unique district - level products. This role involves strategic oversight, collaboration with diverse stakeholders-including governments, industry, and local communities, and the development of innovative market expansion strategies.
Key Stakeholders:
- Liase with Central and State Governments for accessing resources, navigating regulatory environments, and implementing policies that favor the initiative's objectives.
- Liase with industry associations and trade bodies to gain insights into market trends, challenges, and opportunities in various sectors.
- Liase with educational and research institutions to support skill development and training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Lead the vision and strategic direction for the ODOP initiative, ensuring alignment with national development goals and balanced regional growth.
- Seamlessly integrate ODOP strategies with national and state policies, ensuring the initiative supports broader economic development objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Foster high-level relationships with Central and State Governments, Industry Associations, e-Commerce giants, and international trade bodies to synergize efforts towards enhancing production and market reach.
- Establish a robust feedback loop with stakeholders to continuously refine and improve ODOP strategies based on ground-level insights and challenges.
Brand and Market Development:
- Drive the development of innovative branding and marketing strategies to enhance market access and visibility of district-centric products.
- Identify potential products aligned with district's strength.
- Technology and Innovation Partnership:
- Engage with leading technology firms and startups to integrate advanced solutions that enhance traditional production methods, ensuring global competitiveness.
Advanced Market Analysis:
- Lead the efforts for comprehensive market research to identify export opportunities and markets for ODOP products.
- Strategize the positioning of ODOP products by performing detailed analysis of competitors in target markets.
Entrepreneurship and Economic Development:
- Develop programs to boost startups and SMEs within the ODOP framework that include providing training and mentorship to entrepreneurs.
- Assess the economic impact of the ODOP initiative on local communities, using findings to refine
approaches and maximize socioeconomic benefits.
Empowering Stakeholders:
- Lead efforts for collaboration with state/ district stakeholders.
- Provide strategic insights into the challenges faced by artisans, farmers, traders, producers, and corporates within the ODOP framework.
Role Objectives:

- Market Expansion and Brand Development: To position district-centric products favorably in national and international markets through strategic branding and marketing.

Preferred Experience & Background:
- Professional with more than 15 - 30 years of experience in industrial design firms, supply chain conglomerates, trade bodies/associations, or government interface roles.
- Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute visionary strategies, leveraging extensive industry experience.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with high-level stakeholders and representing the initiative on national and international platforms.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making and strategy formulation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Educational Qualifications: Master's or higher degree in Business Administration, or, Economics, or a related field, preferably from reputed institution.
