About the Department

Invest India is the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG.

Key Responsibilities:

Investor Targeting and Business Development : Develop and implement targeted strategies to create an investment pipeline for the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and allied sectors.

Lead continued engagement with industry stakeholders to identify business development opportunities.

Facilitation and Handholding: Provide expert guidance to new and existing investors on market entry strategy, expansion advisory, policy matters, and issue resolution.

Collaborate closely with investors to facilitate joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.

Stakeholder Engagement and Events: Organize stakeholder consultations, roundtables, and investment promotion events to showcase investment opportunities in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sector. Act as a liaison between Department of Pharmaceuticals, investors, and Industry Associations

Policy Formulation and Implementation: Support the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers in policy formulation and implementation through primary research and stakeholder consultations. Liaise between Department of Pharmaceuticals, prospective investors, and Industry Associations to ensure alignment of interests.

Research and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive research documents and pitch presentations on areas of interest for investors considering business expansion. Provide policy inputs for Ministries based on industry research and stakeholder feedback.

Qualifications:

- Post-graduate or graduate degree in pharmaceutical (for Pharma team), Biotechnology (for Biotech team), healthcare or related streams from a reputed university in India/abroad.

- 4-9 years of work experience at a consulting firm / developmental agency/ investment bank/investment promotion agency / well-known global or domestic corporate, in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology or allied sectors.

- Any internship/project experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology space is an added advantage.

- Experience in preparing DPR's, policy briefs, policy analysis, research reports.

- Ability to work in teams and take ownership of the task at hand.

- Strong commitment to accuracy and professionalism.

- Excellent communication, people and analytical skills.

- Ability to work amid strict deadlines and on multiple projects.
