Associate/Assistant Manager - States Vertical About the Department : Invest India, the national Investment Promotion & Facilitation Agency under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. We work closely with State and UT Governments across India, on different fronts such as investment promotion, targeting and facilitation, capacity building of state investment teams, policy advocacy, strategic advisory on structuring/restructuring state investment promotion agencies etc. Invest India also hosts teams working with various government initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, AGNii, and PMG. Invest India is planning to expand its 'STATES' vertical and specifically looking for candidates responsible for the following regions: Gujarat - Maharashtra Rajasthan - Madhya Pradesh Uttar Pradesh - West Bengal Delhi - Uttarakhand Haryana - Himachal Pradesh Jammu & Kashmir - Ladakh The candidates hired may be assigned a few states along with a national level project from the various initiatives being undertaken. He /she shall be based at Invest India's headquarter in New Delhi and in general, be responsible for the following activities: Key Responsibilities : - Develop and enhance current working relationship of Invest India with the state administrative leadership and relevant government authorities - Build understanding of the state's socio-economic & business landscape including state's focus sectors, industrial policy, all relevant sectoral policies and schemes, land banks, industrial clusters and areas being promoted, key companies, cost of doing business, etc. - Handhold serious investors and facilitate their investment plans/projects in co-ordination with state government stakeholders, Act as relationship managers for investment cases for the State/region (this will include activities such as understanding the company / proposed project, facilitate location assessment & site-visits, interface with relevant Government departments to fast track the setting up of business etc.) - Coordinate with central and state government stakeholders for resolution of issues faced/raised by investors for the State or region - Undertake focus aftercare initiatives and maintain relationships with existing marquee investors in the State/region - Support on initiatives for capacity building of the State Investment Promotion Agencies (IPA) - Support Invest India's initiatives such as Startup India, India Investment Grid, Project Monitoring Group, national technology commercialization program (AGNIi), One District One Product etc (visit Investindia.gov.in for details on these initiatives) - Networking and building partnerships with key stakeholders such as Industry Associations, Chambers of Commerce, Consulates of Embassies/High Commissions, Think Tanks/Research centres, Academic Institutions and the key Industry players present in the region Qualifications : - Post Graduate degree/ exceptional graduates from a premier institute - Relevant Work Experience: 0-2 Years working in a front-end role at a Global Corporate/Government agency/Consulting firm / Investment Bank /Chamber or Association - Experience in the field of Investment Promotion, Facilitation, Ease of Doing Business, Research & Policy/Scheme Devolvement, project execution with central / state government would be preferred - Prior understanding about the business ecosystem and administrative set-up of a state - Strong business communication & etiquettes, stakeholder management, client relationship management and networking skills - Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel - Language proficiency: Hindi, English, local/regional (preferred) - State Domicile will be preferred
