About Sankalp Forum:

Sankalp Forum (www.sankalpforum.com), an Intellecap Initiative, aims to influence the global inclusive development discourse through its work with entrepreneurs, impact investors and inclusive businesses in developing markets. Keeping entrepreneurs and the social impact that they create at its core, Sankalp engages Governments, corporations, influential platforms like the G8 and G20, media and civil society to drive a paradigm shift in inclusive development approaches.

Sankalp’s global Summit, held in India annually, brings together over a 1,000 of these engaged stakeholders from around the world to discuss, debate and create a roadmap for development. The Forum expanded to Africa in 2013, and is actively looking to engage with other developing markets in Asia. Since its inception in 2009, it has connected over 400 enterprises to investors and funders, and built an engaged community of over 23,000

The Sankalp Forum business strategy in the coming months will consist of three principle elements:

a) Growing and strengthening the Annual Global Sankalp Summit (held in Mumbai) positioning as a superior international event that drives dialogue and collaboration in the development and impact investing space,

b) Strengthen Sankalp Africa Program and prepare for expansion in Asia.

c) Create a network of strategic partners invested into the growth and future trajectory of Sankalp Forum.

The Position:

- The Content Lead will work closely with the Director - Sankalp Forum and Manager - Sankalp Africa in Mumbai and Nairobi.

- The Content Lead will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing a content strategy for Sankalp Forum and work closely with Director in identifying and managing Strategic Content Partners for the Forum in India and in other parts of the world.

- The ideal candidate should be a strong communicator, who is self-motivated and has a proven track record of strategic planning, content development, marketing and working with multiple stakeholder and partners.

- She/he should be capable of creative and non-traditional thinking and should have experience developing new and innovative content formats.

More specifically, the candidate will be expected to:

- Develop a detailed Strategic Content Plan for Sankalp Forum’s initiatives including the Sankalp Africa Summit and the Sankalp’s Global Summit in close collaboration with the senior leadership team of Intellecap.

- Leverage existing research to build a strong value proposition and differential for the Summit programming. Propose themes/ topics and drive consensus-building within.

- Identify trends and topics related to Social Enterprise, Impact Investing and Global Development and build and manage content partnerships with a wide variety of donors, foundations, corporations, investors, academic institutions, government, and other supporting institutions and individuals.

- Innovate and offer new ideas and approaches for developing and building programming content and partnerships with the multiple stakeholders set forth above.

- Ensure consistency and regularity in communication with external stakeholders through email campaigns, blogs and events.

- Support speaker identification, invitation and confirmation for the Summit.

- Stay appropriately networked and abreast of trends, news, and events with respect to Inclusive Development, Social Enterprise, Impact Investing, and related topics so that Sankalp Forum maintains its leadership role in Asia and develops a market leadership position in Africa and globally.

- Write blog posts and articles as required.

The Search:

The candidate should have a degree in a business or marketing-related field, providing the relevant business, communication, strategic planning and entrepreneurial skills required. A background and understanding of issues relating to Social Enterprise, Impact Investing, and global development will be highly preferred.

As an applicant to this position you should have:

- A relevant degree in business and / or marketing or management subjects, preferably Master’s.

- 4-6 years of experience working in a strategic planning, business development, fundraising or similar field in a corporate, consulting, or investment environment or with an international development agency.

- Direct experience and successful track record developing and implementing projects involving multiple stakeholders.

- Good existing network of entities especially private sector/ corporate entities that could be leveraged for partnerships for the Forum.

- Developed, negotiated, and managed financial and non-financial partnerships with a diverse set of donors, sponsors, investors, and other prospective collaborators.

- Strong communication skills and be able to operate professionally and effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders at multiple levels within their respective organizations.

- Excellent networking, relationship management, team building, and teamwork capability and experience.

- Entrepreneurial drive, passion and ability to help shape the organization and deliver future results.

- Ability to travel within India and internationally.

- A strong understanding of and interest in international development, social/ impact investing and entrepreneurship.

- Good knowledge of working in India; experience and knowledge of working in Asia and Africa would be a plus.

- Compensation is commensurate to experience and comparable to remunerations within the sector. You will also be eligible for incentives and bonus payouts as and when applicable.
