Key responsibilities:

- Create databases optimized for performance, implementing schema changes, and maintaining data architecture standards.

- Lead innovation through exploration, benchmarking, making recommendations, and implementing big data technologies for platforms

- Develop and implement scripts for database maintenance, monitoring & performance tuning

- Designing and developing scalable ETL packages and ETL routines to populate databases from sources and also to create aggregates.

- Oversee large-scale data Hadoop platforms and support the fast-growing data within the business.

- Responsible for enabling and running data migrations across different databases and different servers. Define and implement data stores based on requirements.

- Responsible for performing thorough testing and validation in order to support the accuracy of data transformations and data verification used in machine learning models. Strive to ensure proper data governance and quality.

- Play an analytical role and perform ad-hoc analyses of data stored in the business's databases, write SQL scripts, troubleshoot data issues and proactively recommend optimization and contribute to conceptual physical and logical data models

Candidate Profile:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any other technology related field.

- At least 7-10 years of working experience as a database engineering support personnel or a database engineering administrator within a fast-paced a complex business setting.

- Experience working in internet technologies, for example, SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.

- Strong working and conceptual knowledge of building and maintaining physical and logical data models and experience with business intelligence tools

- Technological Savvy/Analytical Skills: Fluency in the use of tools such as SQL Server, MySQL and strong Python, Shell, Java, PHP, and T-SQL programming skills

- Demonstrate expertise in data modeling and query performance tuning on SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres or similar platforms.

- Experience with cloud data bases (e.g. Google Redshift, Azure SQL, etc.) is preferable

- Experience in creating dashboards with BI and reporting tools like Tableau, QlikView, Spotfire, Pentaho, SSRS, Cognos, etc.

- MS Office/Software: Demonstrate proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, all necessary for the creation of both visually and verbally engaging reports and presentations, for senior data engineering management and senior data science leadership.
