Position Description :

As the Interim Head of Engineering for Cloud Solutions in the APAC region you will play a pivotal role in leading our dynamic and expert engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and delivering exceptional results to our clients. Your leadership will ensure the seamless delivery of professional services and managed solutions across our core competencies, including Cloud & DevOps Engineering, Software Engineering/Application Development. You will be the technical and managerial linchpin for approximately 65-70 engineers based across India, Singapore, and Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities :

Team Leadership :

- Lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team of engineers across multiple countries, ensuring a high-performance culture and a collaborative working environment.

- Drive the professional growth and development of the team, ensuring skill enhancement, retention, and succession planning.

- Act as a mentor and coach to senior technical staff and nurture leadership within the team.

Technical Leadership :

- Foster innovation and enforce best practices in engineering disciplines to ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and sustainable solutions.

- Maintain technical credibility and hands-on understanding of technology and trends, ensuring the team's skills and methodologies are current and competitive.

- Drive the adoption of modern engineering practices, including automation, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code (IaC).

Client Escalation Management :

- Act as the senior point of technical escalation, providing strategic solutions and mitigating risks to maintain client satisfaction.

- Ensure timely resolution of high-impact issues, balancing the need for speed with a focus on avoiding recurrence and learning from incidents.

Presales Support :

- Collaborate with sales and consulting teams to craft compelling technical proposals and solutions for clients.

- Engage in client discussions, understand their challenges and objectives, and articulate how our engineering capabilities can address their needs.

Proposition/Offering Development :

- Lead the development and refinement of service offerings, ensuring they align with market needs and our strategic goals.

- Keep abreast of industry trends and competitor offerings to continuously enhance and differentiate our service portfolio.

Operational Excellence:

- Ensure efficient and effective delivery of projects and services, adhering to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

- Implement rigorous project governance and performance metrics to monitor and drive continuous improvement in delivery and client satisfaction.

Job Requirements :

- Proven experience leading a substantial engineering team, ideally within a professional services or consulting environment.

- Deep technical expertise in Cloud and DevOps Engineering, Software Engineering/Application Development with a track record of hands-on experience.

Qualifications :

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field. A master's degree or higher is preferable.

Experience:

- Minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 8 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.

- Proven track record of leading engineering teams in a professional services or consulting environment, delivering highquality technical solutions.

- Extensive experience in Cloud and DevOps Engineering, as well as Software Engineering/Application Development.

Technical Proficiency:

- Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends.

- Hands-on experience with major cloud service providers, especially AWS and GCP.

- Proficiency in modern engineering practices, including automation, CI/CD, and IaC.

- Knowledge of multiple front-end and back-end languages and libraries (e.g., HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery, Python, Ruby).

- Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.

Certifications :

- Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or similar credentials.
