Investment Analyst Role: This role is with the Corporate Development team which is the venture capital arm of the company and is also responsible for all M&A and strategic investments. We invest in early stage startups and support them throughout their journey of scaling up to become a large and sustainable business. The team has deployed $150mn across 16 investments in consumer internet and SaaS businesses. The portfolio comprises of companies like Zomato, Policybazaar, Meritnation, Happily Unmarried, Adda247 and Canvera among others. As an Investment Analyst, the position offers a great opportunity to find investment opportunities in the rapidly growing Indian internet ecosystem and understand venture capital investing from close quarters. Major Responsibilities - - Deal sourcing and assessment of potential investment opportunities attend conferences, startup events, tradeshows and relevant databases find and meet startups - Identify and discuss innovative trends, market opportunities &amp; startups in consumer internet/technology space with investment team and recommend high-potential investments. - Perform market research and due diligence for potential investments, which could entail using different products/services and sharing inputs with the investment team - Conduct primary and secondary research on various industries and evaluating competitive landscape for prospective opportunities - Preparing financial models, exit strategies and Investment Committee reports Track the competitive landscape for portfolio companies closely and speak with customers, competitors to achieve the same Required Key Skills/Competencies: - Prior 1-2 years experience in consulting or research at a top tier firm preferred Engineering or commerce graduate from a top tier college - Strong research capabilities, thorough analytical abilities, business acumen and good innate judgment - Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication - Familiarity with the start-up ecosystem and/or the journey of an entrepreneur - Ability to interpret data and provide relevant conclusions/recommendations - Great relationship management skills networking, influencing, collaborating and a proven ability to build trust with entrepreneurs and other organizational partner - Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team or autonomously with little oversight - Must be a self-starter capable of working in a fast-paced and open environment with limited direction - A high standard of integrity and ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality About the team: The Corporate Development team at Info Edge is a small team with just 5 full-time members, including Sanjeev Bikhchandani who is the founder and executive vice-chairman of Info Edge. Hence there is very good exposure to all levels of decision making with ability to contribute significantly. This role would lead to tremendous gain of knowledge about starting up, right from idea evaluation to growing into a company with significant scale of operations. Strong analytical abilities and an entrepreneurial bent of mind is preferred, however we are open to considering candidates from varied work experiences and academic backgrounds. The position is based out of the company headquarters at Noida. The pay is competitive and will be commensurate with experience.
