Indirect Taxation Role - BFSI

We have an urgent requirement for Indirect Tax in a US Based MNC.

Job Description :

- Possess a strong knowledge on accounting and tax areas and should have worked on complex accounting and transaction tax accounting scenarios

- Prepare complex JVs for clearance of reconciling items from reconciliations

- Understands tax-sub Ledger to GL flows

- Understands inter-company flows and their impact on transaction taxes

- Basic understanding of currency conversions for correct treatment of overseas sales/purchases on transaction tax computation

- Independent handling of complex transaction tax returns/reconciliations

- Prepare returns of companies with complex structures and transactions

- Identify exceptional scenarios & asses their tax implication

- Analyze / review the tax reconciliations and the deltas & avoid recurrence of deltas through re-structuring the tax processes.

- Good in understanding the relevant tax laws & applicability of various forms/exemption certificates in deciding the tax implication

- Should have worked on & supported audits/assessments

- Should be strong on analytical skills- be able to drill down the transactions in Sub ledger & GL, analyze the incorrect treatment & propose resolutions.

Computer and ERP skills : Good on MS Excel e.g. Pivot tables, v-lookups, basic formulas etc & other MS office applications.

Qualification :

- Graduate (B.Com), Semi-qualified accountants (CA-Inter, ICWA-Inter), MBA (finance)

- 3-8 years experience in indirect taxation & accounting

Soft Skills :

- Ensure strict adherence to the tax timelines, foresee delays & raise flag in time to resolve problems. Understand the criticality of tax-related issues and work towards quick resolution.

- Ability to Identify & Escalate medium to high complex process issues.

- Be able to do an impact analysis and provide recommendations

- Should have some basic judgmental skills & decision making abilities

- Interpersonal skills to interact, coordinate and have higher sphere & ability to influence.

- Basic presentation skills

- Work with the team to provide some basic coaching and mentoring on task related matters.
