Senior Manager/Associate Director - Passenger Revenue Accounting (revenue accounting experience of an airline mandatory)

Qualifications:

- CA or MBA-Finance

- IATA qualified for Passenger Proration, Sales Accounting, Interline Accounting and Control etc.

Team Structure:

Lead two teams, namely:-

1. System Development & Accounting Control team in carrying out passenger revenue accounting activities and provide system development & support for Passenger Revenue Accounting System and data warehouse

2. Passenger Interline Audit Team to partner with Pax Commercial Team for interline related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Systems Management, Control & Support:

- Oversee and control the security of Pax Revenue Accounting System in compliance with internal policy and external audit requirements.

- Work with various parties to ensure smooth implementation to the new Pax Revenue Accounting System, to be live in Apr 24.

- Manage and review the setting of accounting business rules, other business rules and special proration agreements in the new Pax Revenue Accounting System to ensure compliance with accounting standards and meet business objectives.

- Formulate procedures and guidelines to cope with system operation and design.

- Interact closely with other departments across upstream and downstream systems integration related to Pax Revenue Accounting processes and development.

- Engage in project development and implementation, coordinate with Digital, business users and other departments.

Passenger interline accounting and audit:

- Ensure all interline billings/rejections/proration are processed in compliance of the IATA rules and regulations.

- Monitor the ICH outstanding balances and ensure all relevant parties take appropriate action to those carriers who are unable to settle the balances on time.

- Participate in internal audits to identify the gaps between the system and process.

- Monitor the activities including account reconciliation, prorate calculation, settlement which related to FFP tickets. Communicate with internal stakeholders when discrepancies are found.

- Partner with Commercial Team to review agreements related to any SPA, codeshare, FFP, etc and provide comments.

- Follow up any queries about interline billings, FFP, code-share process, etc.

- Attend IATA meetings and discussions.

- Coach Pax Revenue Accounting Team in Head office and vendor location for proration and interline related matters.

- Support Head of Revenue Accounting in various IATA working groups for promoting interline pax revenue accounting best practices to enhance efficiency.

Team Management:

- Lead a team of 5-10 members to function daily task activities smoothly and effectively.

- Ensure all task activities are completed on a timely basis and performed in a right manner to fulfil management requirements and company policy.

- Provide guidance and workable solution to solve problems.

- Formulate guidelines and procedures for Pax Revenue Accounting System and Interline accounting related matters.

Requirements:

- 15-20 years' experience in managing accounting systems, preferably with revenue accounting experience of an airline and minimum 10-15 years in a supervisory role

- Good knowledge in airline industry, ticketing, IATA resolution and accounting principle

- Sound knowledge in Passenger Revenue Accounting processes and end to end system work flow a definite plus.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally communicate in a multicultural environment.

- Good command of both spoken and written English.

- Sound analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.

- Able to work both independently as well as being an effective team player.

- Strong skills in MS Office applications.

- Experience in using SAP and financial closing advantageous.

- Able to work under pressure and being flexible when necessary to meet deadlines.

- Knowledge of Indian tax law and International taxation.
