An inspiring technical leader with a passion for digital commerce products and a deep understanding of software development and tools. This is both a people management and technical leadership position where the candidate will manage a team of talented engineers and architects that work on cutting-edge technologies.

The desired candidate will be a key part of the core management team and have his/her vision as part of the company roadmap. Work closely with the engineering leadership team to drive the Product Engineering Roadmap. Contribute new technical insights and help decide design directions, while preserving the core cultural values that define engineering today, including: high level of personal performance, integrity and creating a mutually supportive environment.

Core Competencies:

- Significant experience leading and developing services and solutions in the digital commerce area.

- Deep knowledge of digital commerce technologies with hands on experience in developing and maintaining enterprise scale solutions.

- Experience in developing strategies to cope with aggressive business growth.

- Prior experience working with digital commerce vendors and alliances.

- Prior work experience in implementing large scale consumer focused online platforms.

Technical competencies:

- Must have an excellent command of the complete modern web stack (LAMP) and distributed computing (Hadoop/Mapreduce) frameworks, as well as a solid understanding of scalability, modularity and sys-ops best practices.

- Solid server side framework on data pipelineing is key, with good exposure to managing multiple systems (portal, recommendation and notifications server, big data analytics engine and machine learning systems etc) working in a fairly complex architecture.

- Working knowledge of our current languages/db, which include PHP (Magento), NodeJS, jQuery, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop and the AWS environment. Hands on coding knowledge of Java or PHP is a must.

- Strong familiarity with Linux, MySQL, and modern big data management approaches is very useful. Expertise in Python and J2EE frameworks (Struts, Hibernate, D3 visualization) is also valuable

Key Deliverables:

- Responsible for leading the conceptualization, research, and direction of the overall technology & architectural platforms across the Indiaproperty.com portal.

- Responsible for delivering products with high quality, on time while maintaining high efficiency of resources utilized.

- Identify opportunities and risks for delivering company's services.

- Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms which can scale in the future.

- Take responsibility for every layer of the stack: Backend, Operations, Web, Desktop, Mobile, Integrations etc.

- Be responsible for Big Data and Analytics Platforms, Supply Chain Platforms, NoSQL non-relational (row-major and column major) Databases, Data Warehouse, Recommendation Engines, Experimentation Platforms and Mapping Infrastructure

- Communicate the company's technology strategy to investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders.

- Translate business requirements into systems design. Challenge business design when appropriate. Offer creative alternatives regarding business design

- Balance the considerations of what it takes to deploy an application -- processes, procedures, organization, performance, etc. Utilize understanding of package solutions and recommends their use as part of the solution when appropriate

- Leverage experience with component and service based design. Translate the impact of design on scalability, performance, etc.

- Promote the value of project processes and establishe these processes on a new project.

- Educates and ensures that team follows processes. Defines and assesses completeness of work.

- Understanding of iOS and Android platform capabilities and familiarity with developer ecosystems.

- Include staff in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement

- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to express thoughts logically and succinctly.
