Research Associate position under Professor Deepa Mani, Information Systems Area, Indian School of Business

Position details:

ISB is looking for candidates with strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, and excellent communication skills. We seek applications from motivated individuals with a strong academic background to work as Research Associates at ISB. Research Associates (RA) generally go on to pursue Ph.D. in internationally renowned business schools after working at ISB for about 2-3 years.

There is currently 1 RA position available in the Information Systems Area with Professor Deepa Mani. The candidate will assist the faculty in their ongoing research work which includes development of analytical models, solution algorithms and designing of computational experiments. The position is best suited for a candidate with an interest in pursuing a PhD down the line.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

- B Tech from IIT, NIT or BITS (preferably in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) or MBA/ PGDBM from premier institutions like IIMs.

- Or Other Consistently high CGPA, evidence of academic excellence.

The candidate must have high standards in terms of quality of work, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and absolute commitment to task completion.

1) Experience working with big data systems, concepts, and tools.

2) Strong team player with cross-functional skills

3) Experience with noisy and/or unstructured textual data

4) Strong coding proficiency in Python, Stata, R and SQL

5) Knowledge of various text mining algorithms and their use-cases as well as text pre-processing and normalization techniques

6) Excellent problem-solving skills

7) Strong verbal and written communication skills

8) Exposure to economic problems and econometric techniques desirable

9) Motivation to learn and strong work ethic
