DIRECTOR - OPERATIONS Position : Director Team : Operations Reporting : Chief Executive Officer Purpose : The Director, Operations is a key leadership role to ensure that the organisation functions effectively and efficiently, and is compliant with all board-approved policies through robust and transparent human resource, finance and office administration functions Location : New Delhi, India ABOUT US : The India Child Protection Fund (ICPF) is a new social impact fund focussed on child protection. The mission of ICPF is to serve the child protection ecosystem by supporting grassroots action and activists, identifying and scaling out sustainable solutions, investing in bold innovation, leveraging technology, and promoting strategic and coordinated efforts at all levels. It is headquartered in New Delhi, India and shall invest in child protection initiatives in India, Nepal and Bangladesh. The exploitation of children, particularly child trafficking, is a highly organized and complex crime which operates across state and national borders. In order to combat this crime, civil society's response needs to be more strategic, organised and sustainable, and backed by empirical evidence. ICPF is mobilizing regional philanthropies and international donors to funnel their resources into a strategic and holistic strategy aimed at solving the problem. Driven by activists and grassroots experience, ICPF shall fundamentally transform the donor-grantee ecosystem in the region. It shall create a level playing field for funding, define sector standards, build capacities, promote greater collaboration and enable bold, data-driven approaches and innovations. PURPOSE : The Director Operations shall lead the team responsible for following streams of work: 1. Human resources function, as per the ICPF Human Resource policy 2. Finance function to ensure ICPF is cost-efficient and financially compliant, as per the ICPF Finance 3. Supervision of all administrative systems and processes of ICPF to ensure smooth and agile functioning 4. Overall internal and statutory compliance of the organisation KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : The Director Operations shall have the skills and experience to deliver on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the following areas: 1. Strategic Planning and Implementation - Identify and deliver key operational functions, including human resources, finance and office administration for ICPF to achieve the desired outcomes as per the ICPF Annual Action Plan - Develop and lead annual budgeting, resources and human resource planning process to deliver ICPF Annual Action Plan - Ensure quarterly internal learning and development to ensure staff is trained on internal policies and procedures - Conduct a quarterly review to ensure that ICPF's human resource needs are met - that ICPF is staffed with individuals with the requisite skills, knowledge and values-alignment, that their performance is monitored and managed, that they receive the necessary professional development, resources and social-emotional support to perform at the expected standard of excellence - Deliver a monthly finance update to the Management Committee on the financial health of ICPF, challenges with recommendations for further growth and improvement - Develop and implement office administration processes and systems to ensure ICPF staff can perform its functions efficiently and effectively - Ensure regular performance review meetings with team Directors and the CEO to discuss operational challenges and solutions - Support the CEO on operational challenges, opportunities, organisational developments and growth plans 2. Leadership - Lead by example and ensure that ICPF's organisation culture and the behaviour and decisions of its associates are aligned to serving the child protection system and solving the problem - Ensure a shared understanding of organisation values, the team's strategic priorities and where the team fits into the larger mission of ICPF, as per the internal communications strategy - Build a strong, passionate, motivated and competent team which receive the guidance, professional development opportunities, support and resources to perform their roles with efficiency - Conduct quarterly and annual appraisals of the Operations team to ensure that KPIs of team members are monitored and achieved, and timely corrective action is taken where needed such that the mission of ICPF is always on track - Ensure that the Operations team remains abreast with the latest regulatory requirements, compliance, sectoral developments and operational tools &amp; techniques in the child protection and allied sectors 3. Governance - Ensure compliance of the team with board-approved internal policies and governance framework - Ensure regular updation and internal compliance on ICPF organisational policies, systems and procedures - Ensure statutory and budgetary compliance of ICPF - Ensure statutory and other compliances for donor reporting, contracts, agreements with partners/associates - Ensure design and implementation of a risk management plan for the organisation covering all types of potential risks including governance, external &amp; regulatory, financial, reputational, programmatic, people, fundraising etc. - Provide operational inputs on the development of the ICPF Annual Action Plan - Manage the functioning of the Management Committee and ensure implementation of Management Committee decisions - Liaise and network with key government departments/bodies and institutions relevant to operations management of the organisation REQUIREMENTS : - Masters degree in a relevant domain - 10+ years relevant work experience in operations management, finance &amp; administration, organisational development or other relevant roles - Fluency in English and Hindi, spoken and written.
