About Our Client

Our client is a market leading MNC in the lubricants sector with a diverse portfolio of products and business lines. They have significantly increased their footprint in Asia in the last few years and have an ambitious expansion plan for the years to follow. The organization has a big focus on the India market, and through a joint venture locally has seen a steady increase in turnover in the last few years. We are now looking for a Business Head for the India market who can build on the foundation and significantly expand the business.

Job Description

Reporting to the Chairman of the local joint venture as well as the General Manager based in the international headquarters, you will have end to end and PAN India responsibility for the entire business with a headcount of about 20 staff. You will manage an experienced sales team with regional sales heads, as well as a distributor base around the country and will have the mandate to significantly expand the revenues. You will also oversee the procurement framework, with a majority of the products already sourced locally under status quo.

In addition, you will use your insights of the lubricants industry to devise a sensible revamp and segmentation of the product lines and a clear and effective market and business development strategy. There will be extensive support as well as periodic alignments with the company headquarters on the business strategy for each product line and you can also expect periodic travel both within and outside the country. Additionally, you will manage the relevant support functions important for the success of the business.

The Successful Applicant

We are looking for individuals with the ambition and drive to take the business to a new level. You must have the following experience and attributes:

- At least 12 - 15 years targeted experience in a business role in the lubricants industry

- Strong industrial B2B sales experience

- A technical/educational background in engineering would be highly beneficial

- Track record of bringing business results and positive change

- Experience in a geographically diverse business, ideally an MNC

- Ability to communicate very well with both local and international stakeholders
