Presently, we are hiring for an Engineering Manager, to be based with us in Bangalore

Title: Engineering Manager, GDC

Location: Bangalore, India

Min. Experience: 8+ to 10 years overall and 6 years in similar/equivalent function

Summary of responsibilities

We are looking to dramatically increase the scope of our data technology with someone able to review new technologies to solve some unique challenges. You will work with our Engineering team, both India & US, to build the infrastructure that will support actionable business intelligence into the hands of our partners and clients.

You will manage and build technical solutions alongside a team of developers who are all working towards this same goal.

You should be an expert at designing, implementing, and operating stable, scalable, low-cost solutions to flow data from production systems into the Data Warehouse and into end-user facing reporting applications. Above all, you should be passionate about working with data and someone who loves to bring datasets together to answer business questions and drive change.

Required Managerial Experience

- Building and leading Development Teams using Agile Methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.

- 5+ years of teaching/training/mentoring less experienced developers.

- Excellent communication.

- A preference for transparency and visibility in all operations.

Required Engineering Experience

- History of development operations on - nix based systems within AWS infrastructure and/or other cloud based platforms.

- Knowledge of automating infrastructure and using tools like Vagrant, Docker, Chef/Puppet/Ansible, VMs.

- Capable of setting up networks and their management.

- Expertise with at least one dynamic language such as Ruby.

- Expertise with at least one object-oriented language such as Java/C#.

- Expertise with SQL.

- Expertise with Design Patterns.

- Familiarity with Data Processing paradigms such as Data Lakes, Data Warehousing, ETL, etc.

- Knowledge of Relational Databases, their management, maintenance and scaling.

- Familiarity with Golang.

- Excellent with C/C++.

- Knowledge of security best practices, securing machines and data.

Last But Not Least

- Easy going, humble, and a team player.

- Excellent spoken English.

- Experience working with sensitive medical data a plus.
