COMPANY OVERVIEW : iLabs Capital is a Hyderabad based family office deploying capital through the funds-of-funds model. By virtue of our FOF model, we play the role of either an anchor-investor or a co-investor in a variety of seed capital, venture capital, private equity and special situation investment funds. In fact, our unique investment strategy has permitted us to be a part of the success of more than 50 companies. iLabs Capital is now launching Brand Spark - 1st of its kind accelerator program focused on consumer brands, in particular consumer product goods from categories such as food, beverage, personal care, home care, apparel, accessories, footwear and others. This position will be involved with working with the accelerator team. JOB / ROLE OVERVIEW : - Excellent opportunity for intelligent, hardworking, passionate, young individuals to join Brand Spark - 1st of its kind consumer brand accelerator based out of Hyderabad in the role of an analyst. - Brand Spark aims to build product and market validated startups into world-class brands. Its 12 month program solves key issues such as investment, ecosystem access, task playbook, mentor network. Startups are offered cash stipends, as well as insider contacts to seed and pre-series a funds. They are granted exclusive access to ecosystem players including supply chain leaders, online marketplaces, offline touchpoints, brand designers and developers. They are also granted task playbooks to accelerate smart growth. Founders are connected to tailored network of entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts and function experts. The program is extremely hands-on and is structured to include group workshops, 1-on-1 consultations, monthly evaluation sessions and continued strategic council. - As startup advisors and patient investors, Brand Spark's laser-focus maximizes the odds of success for each of the companies admitted into the acclaimed program. In exchange for lining-up all the pieces to empower our companies to scale, brand spark receives a small equity stake in each company. - The accelerator team will consist of 3-5 people. This will allow candidates to get great exposure to consumer sector, venture capital, entrepreneurship and startup ecosystem. This will also allow candidates to flourish in an informal, flexible and energetic work environment. Role and Responsibly : - To be up-to-date on industry trends and opportunities - To provide team in-depth research and insights, which help improve investment decisions - To report news on specific industries, companies and transactions - To create a database of market information on various consumer sectors - To source investment deals through startup platforms and iLabs Capital's network-of-contacts - To build a database of investment deals which have good return potential - To do cold-calls with potential investment companies to obtain information and secure meetings - Is responsible for evaluating deals with pro-active strategies to validate opportunity - To collect information from clients to understand company operations and business models - To conduct market analysis - To conduct due diligence on teams, operations, finances and accounts - To conduct background-checks on founders and channel-checks on customers and vendors - To collect insights from industry experts to evaluate investment deals - To prepare meeting minutes and provide clear deliverables - To prepare investment teasers and investment memos on potential investment deals - To prepare financial statement projections and valuation models to validate return potential - Is responsible for executing deals from source to analysis to closure - To prepare term sheets and other documents required to close investment deals - Is responsible for monitoring portfolio companies by supporting them strategically - To coordinate between involved - parties- to facilitate implementation of value-additive initiatives - To prepare periodic reports on portfolio company performance - To meet with clients and network with industry experts and other venture capitalists - To be present at industry and company related events and conferences - To travel (as required) Work Experience : - Any experience in investment banks, consulting firms, private equity funds, venture capital funds, CPG or retail companies - Any experience as a founder or in the operations of a startup will be an added advantage - Candidates with evident interest or experience in investments or consumer sector can also apply - Proficiency in using research platforms such as Cb Insights etc. - Proficiency in using startup platforms such as Tracxn etc. - Proficiency in using Microsoft Office - Advanced PowerPoint skills. Knowledge on presentation is an added advantage, not compulsory - Advanced Excel skills.
