Group Profile: Financial Accounting and Reporting Group (FARG)

FARG is responsible for financial statements, review of accounting policies and accounting of foreign branches prepared as per Indian GAAP and US GAAP of the Bank. The Group ensures that the Bank prepares the financial statements in compliance with extant guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India and the accounting standards issued by ICAI. The US GAAP financial statements are prepared based on the accounting standards and pronouncement issued by the FASB. The financial statements prepared under both the GAAPs along with the performance review of the Bank are presented to the Audit Committee. The Group is also involved in implementing IFRS across for the Bank. FARG finalises accounting policies and provides accounting guidance on various products and services across the Bank and its branches.

Purpose of the Job

To be a part of the team that prepares quarterly financial statements and submits data for regulatory returns

Business Group : Financial Accounting and Reporting Group (FARG)

Section : Indian GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)

Location - Mumbai

Reporting to - Head of the Section (CMII)

Qualifications - Preferably a qualified chartered accountant or an equivalent degree.

IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)

Key deliverables

- Preparation of financial statements under the Indian GAAP and data for regulatory return to RBI for the Bank

- Co-ordinating with auditors within the overall timelines for completion of quarterly statutory audits

- Preparing monthly trial balance and Profit statement for MIS to management

- Preparing data for RBI inspection

- Submission of information/MIS to Audit Committee and the Senior Management

- Further the process of automation in various areas relating to the financial statements and documentation

- Provide accounting guidance to business and operations groups on new product and processes and review of accounting for the existing processes and products

- Manage a team of 1-2 persons

Key skills and Knowledge Requirements in the candidate:

- High degree of familiarity and clarity with Indian accounting standards/accounting concepts

- Familiarity with MS-Office

- Problem solving skills

- Good Written and oral communication skills

- Hardworking and sincere
