Hypersonix - Director - Engineering

Hypersonix.ai is disrupting the e-commerce space with AI, ML and advanced decision capabilities to drive real-time business insights. Hypersonix.ai has been built ground up with new age technology to simplify the consumption of data for our customers in various industry verticals. Hypersonix.ai is seeking a well-rounded, hands-on engineering leader to help lead the engineering team in India.

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Director of Engineering to join our team. This person will work closely with the US leadership team and lead the India engineering team to deliver on product and technology roadmap. You'll be closer to the product than anyone else in the company with hands-on ownership of the product success.

Responsibilities:

- As a leader of Engineering team, you will be leading current & new product development innovative initiatives with passionate team to bring higher efficiencies and a great customer -experience.

- Own all initiatives to develop and scale technology, execute an aggressive roadmap, institute best engineering practices, and deliver innovative products.

- Have deep expertise in data analytics with strong skills in ML, NLP or aspects of data automation and deployment.

- Take full responsibility and ownership for product delivery along with the product management team throughout its lifecycle: ideation, design, development, and product rollout.

- Define the technology strategy, understand & drive core technology research & decision

- Provide inputs, estimates, and plans to the management and technical management for product and feature development. Set and manage expectations, communicate, and execute goals within timelines.

- Motivate and Lead by example - Ability to manage a team of talented engineers and guide them towards the goal of the company.

- Hold regular 1:1s with team managers and skip-level 1:1s with all members of their team

- Working with the product management team to coordinate cross functional features and other deliverables.

- "Roll-up-your-sleeves" entrepreneurial, start-up attitude, team player with record of leading and mentoring employees.

- Strategic orientation - Able to align to company vision and long-term goals and execute strategy.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's in computer science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field from a top-notch university

- Minimum 5 years of Engineering leadership/ tech architect experience in well renowned enterprise

- Deep technology expertise in analytics and hands-on.

- Highly skilled in SQL and database concepts

- Significant programming experience with Python

- Familiarity with a Linux environment and shell scripting

- Highly quantitative, analytical, and business-minded. Ability to solve complex engineering problems in an organized and structured way.

- Strong organization and planning skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects without compromising results.

- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives.

- Must be self-directed, able to work independently, as well as work with different teams in a fast-paced environment. Experience at a start-up or in a scrappy, fast-moving culture is a must.

- High energy, positive can-do attitude with a willingness to do what it takes to get things done

- Good command of modern cloud technology, micro-services, and front-end development.

- Experience with Continuous-Delivery, and Agile development and experimentation frameworks.

- Commitment to quality, performance, and stability of the product.

- Good understanding of non-functional requirements of a product.

- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams across the globe.

- Expertise and experience in modern delivery processes like agile development.

Desired Qualifications:

- Cloud computing experience, Amazon Web Services (AWS) & Snowflake

- Proficiency with data extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes with a variety of data types and data storage systems (e.g., AWS S3, PostgreSQL, Hadoop)

- Familiarity with deep learning algorithms and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow)

- Experience with running machine learning algorithms such as support vector machines, decision trees, logistic regression, clustering, neural networks, graphical models in production environments.
