Role Summary:

The Head of Supply Chain Management is part of the leadership team at Huhtamaki India. As the Head of Supply Chain, the role holder will establish a strong focus on Supply Chain Management in both the region and manufacturing plants. The role provides vision, objectives and focus on the most important building blocks such as S&OP, inventory management and stringent process orientation which will result in high service levels, low inventories, lean processes, and a cost-competitive manufacturing footprint. You will lead the development of the regional supply chain and drive initiatives to achieve the objectives.

Organizational Context

Flexible Packaging India operates 10 manufacturing sites in India and is employer for about 2,600 employees within various states in India, Khopoli being the largest site with around 900 employees followed by Silvassa with around 700. Turnover in 2022 was appr. 300 million euros, of which about 30% comes from global accounts and 30% from Exports. The sites have full profit and loss responsibility of their operations.

Working Relations

The Supply Chain Leader works closely with the Managing Director (India), and other leadership members, supply chain teams to deliver value in the entire ecosystem of Supply Chain Management of Huhtamaki India.

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Head of the Function, drive the Supply Chain Agenda with the P&L Mindset to bring the best outcomes for the organization. This includes evaluation of current process, understanding of industry dynamics and taking corrective measures proactively. Lead and motivate the team to deliver the best-in-class supply chain solutions to internal stakeholders and external customers.

Key Deliverables:

- Introduce, steer, and improve the Sales & Operational Planning (S&OP) process to meet targeted service levels, optimize capacity loading, and minimize inventory levels.

- Monitor and minimize the inventory and WIP level needed to maintain the desired high service level.

- Establish an effective and efficient order-to-cash process.

- Facilitate and deploy e2e supply chain solutions based on capability, capacity, and cost.

- Build, develop, and retain a high-performing cross-functional team on regional level and support capability build in all sites.

- Alert if units do not have enough capacity in critical areas or run-on overcapacity.

- Ensure that the activities of the function follow the company's policies and procedures.

- Generate synergies out of the recently extended footprint.

- Create the right regional manufacturing footprint to service the needs of our customers.

- Establish the new function to achieve high service levels with improved profits, reduced cash and within a high-performing team.

Requirements

- 15 Plus Years of Working Experience in the wider or global packaging area or any other sector that shows similar challenges like high volume, multiple SKUs, and competitive markets.

- Proven track record in a global supply chain management role related to a multi-country and market covering role.

- Former experience in driving service, process, and inventory reduction improvements via lean methods and other continuous improvement initiatives

- Used to working in a matrix environment.

- Tactical abilities, able to see the big picture and catch the essence from scattered information.

- Organized and good planning skills

- Able to bring people together to work on common initiatives, able to inspire, influence and lead also indirect team.

- Able to network and influence in a global organization for decisions critical to organization.

- Excellent communication skills

- Able to drive improvements and deal with resistance (good level of resilience)
