Hughes Systique Corporation - Lead - Data Scientist

HSC is leading R&D engineering services organization, focusing at executing turnkey projects for our customer as well as building IPs/accelerators for faster time to market. For last 2 years, HSC has been working in Retail, Video streaming, Connected cars industry verticals where application of Data analytics and Machine Learning have seen significant growth.

- We are now looking to expand the team with addition of Data Scientists. As Data Scientist you will bring in the knowledge of the basic techniques and methods necessary for solving a specific business problem. You will work closely with the customers, suggest ways of extracting in-sights, decide on the analysis technique or algorithm to be used, drive off-line data analysis and present the - actionable- findings to the customer. You will play a key role in helping the customers build smart solutions by using the power of data analytics and machine learning. You will help the team understand the techniques & algorithms to be used in a solution, interpret results, and suggest specific improvements/ fine-tuning to be made.

- Some of the specific problems we are helping our customers are about predicting guest experience for cruise ships, information retrieval for back ground checks, finding empty slots in racks of retail store, identifying objects in the path for autonomous cars, face detection for access authorization, intrusion detection for home security solutions, potential DOS attacks on E911 networks, etc.

- You will also play a key role in adding the data analytics and ML capabilities for in-house IPR & POC solutions. Some of the internal R&D projects where you may contribute are consumer footfall analytics for retail store, QoE analytics for video streaming, driver behaviour analytics, etc.

Education: B.Tech/B.Sc - Maths/Stats and MBA(Finance/Operations/Marketing) from Tier 1 college

Experience - 5-9 years

Mandatory:

- Good background in applied mathematics (Linear Algebra, Probability theory, random processes, convex optimization)

- Good understanding of data structures and algorithms

- Experience in scripting language (preferably python)

- Experience in common data processing techniques (cleaning, normalization, Regression, Classification, Clustering)

- Understanding of key concepts in ML (overfitting/underfitting, cross-verification, PCA, dimension reduction, ANN/Deep learning, evaluation measures, etc)

- Experience in model creation/ selection and cross-verification methods

- Experience of at least 1Yr with any one of the ML tools/frameworks (Scikit, Tensorflow, Caffe, etc)

Desirable:

- Experience in at least one of the ML areas (computer vision, NLP)

- Experience in offline data modelling & simulation (using R or Octave or equivalent)

- Understanding of different kind of charts (scatter plots, Heat maps, box plot, etc) and their application to data
