Business : GFX Client Service Role Title : Transactional Data Analyst Supervisor's Role Title : Vice President Customer Segment & Location : Bangalore Role Purpose : Responsible for the development and production of new and existing transactional reporting within GFX Operations. The role holder will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely reporting for both external and internal reporting, including regulatory EMIR/DFA transaction reporting, Business Control Committee reporting, Industry Surveys such as CLS, Expand amongst many others. The candidate must demonstrate an analytical mind-set, advanced Excel, VBA and SQL server technical skills, attention to detail, and delivery to meet critical deadlines. Principal Accountabilities : - Produce existing key reporting to both internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, governing bodies, and senior management across the business. - Utilize existing SQL server data warehouse to build new reports to meet new regulation, industry and business requirements. - Is technically competent to hand write and build SQL server queries, and can quickly grasp the business logic to ensure data is accurate. - Opportunity to use creativity and transform existing processes to improve efficiency on report generation - Partners with Line Operations, Global MI and senior stakeholders to continue to build out the reporting framework and drive change. - Assist with periodic static clean up's to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within our post-trade system. Operational Effectiveness & Control : - Engagement with Line Operations staff, ensure appropriate escalation of issues at all times. - To be fully aware of the controls framework, and take a pro-active approach to reduce Operational risk. - Understanding/awareness of FIM (section 12) and the "operational risks" associated with the role. - Understanding of the regulatory environment EMIR/DFA. Major Challenges : - Ability to produce and deliver timely and accurate control reporting within the timelines set. Challenge providers of commentary which does not make sense and ensure all risk items flagged accordingly. - Attention to detail, validating large sets of data for accuracy, identifying errors and rectifying them quickly under tight timelines. - Being able to translate business / regulatory requirements into the technical language to build reports from SQL server. - Ability to learn quickly. Understanding the product and processes, controls and risks. Having an analytical / change mindset, challenging the status quo, pushing the boundaries and continually evaluating why. - Ability to produce and deliver timely and accurate control reporting within the timelines set. Observation of Internal Controls (Compliance Policy / FIM requirements) : - Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. - Understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy. Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications : - Advanced Microsoft Excel, VBA, SQL Server technical skills (at least 3-7 years experience). - Strong analytical skills, problem-solving self-starter, with the ability to champion and drive change. - Strong leadership and teamwork skills. - Strong organizational skills - Ability to work under tight deadlines with attention to detail. - Show initiative, a positive attitude, and leads by example.
