Group Entity: Global Markets Corporate Services &amp; Institutional Sales Role Title Sales Business and Performance Management Team Lead Business/Function &amp; Location: (Country/Department) Global Banking and Markets Service Centres, Bangalore Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role) HSBC Global Banking and Markets is establishing an offshore capability to support the front office. As part of this, Global Markets Corporate Services (GMCS) and Institutional Sales are looking to recruit talented and driven individuals in a number of areas to support sales teams across the globe. This will enable onshore sales teams to dedicate more time delivering better service to clients and make it easier for customers to do business with HSBC. The role provides exposure to both front office sales teams and Global Markets products whilst offering opportunities to directly liaise and develop relationships with other teams including Global Trade &amp; Receivables Finance (GTRF), Global Liquidity &amp; Cash Management (GLCM), and Global Markets Operations. Sales Business and Performance Management Team Lead is responsible for leading a team and being a principal practitioner within the offshore center supporting the GMCS &amp; Institutional Sales COO through provision of key management information and services. Initially, limited client interaction is anticipated although the scope of the role is expected to develop and change over time according to business needs, maturity of technology solutions, and expansion of the offshore capability. The individual will be expected to work closely with the COO function and internal sales people in onshore locations and will have escalation points within Client and Transaction Management Services (CTMS) which sits within the umbrella of Corporate Treasury Solutions (CTS), a key pillar of GMCS. Engagement with CTMS will be needed for any issues or client contact requirements and acts as a bridge between the onshore and offshore teams. The team lead will be responsible for escalating issues raised from either onshore or offshore teams directly to the appropriate contact in CTMS. The responsibilities of the role are broken down as follows; Supervisory responsibilities - Build an enthusiastic and motivated team that demonstrate HSBC Group values and principles - Plan staffing resources effectively to provide support across different time zones and countries - Provide leadership, support, guidance and training to all team members - Conduct regular performance management appraisals with all team members - Streamline processes and identify efficiencies that can be created in the offshore capability - Be the single point of contact for onshore sales teams to escalate any issues - Review work of analysts and establish standardised communications and outputs in conjunction with the onshore sales teams - Be involved in strategic discussions with the senior management teams within the offshore centre - Be accountable for quality of output of the team and delivery of the offshore capability - Identify further opportunities for the offshore capability to support onshore sales teams - Manage changes to processes as technology platforms evolve Delivery Responsibilities The role entails building partnerships and collaborating with the COO function and onshore sales teams in order to operate in a control framework whereby key decisions are made by the appropriate onshore team member. The purpose of the Sales Business &amp; Performance Management team is to support the GMCS COO through provision of key management information and services. The responsibilities of the role will evolve with the expansion of the offshore capability and rollout of technology platforms. Initial ways in which the offshore team can support sales teams with administrative duties include; - Business administration support - Pipeline management and deal approvals - Client tiering discipline and processes - Client focussed MI and analytics, leading to actionable intelligence - Executive level &amp; sales practitioner reporting of client performance - Service management reporting - Business and sales scorecards and updates - Supervisory/organisation/role discipline - Headcount and people resource management - Broker ranking and review metrics Knowledge &amp; Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.) - Overall 3 to 7 years- experience in financial services, experience in a markets based role would be advantageous - Experience in setting up a new team and creating/optimising new processes in an offshore location would be advantageous - Understanding of Global Markets products, specifically FX spot, FX forwards, FX options, money market products, and interest rate swaps - Understanding of the difference between corporate and institutional uses of FX or Rates products - Experience managing a team with clear competencies in people &amp; development, performance management, and high quality execution - Proven analytical ability - Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem solving skills - Advanced level of MS Excel and PowerPoint skills - Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner - Excellent written, verbal &amp; presentation communication skills - The ability to quickly understand customer requirements and concerns and deliver a quality result to them - Proven ability to prioritise workload effectively in line with business priorities - Manage deadlines, escalate issues promptly, and prioritise workload - Willing to turn a hand to whatever task is required - Willingness to own work and problems and see through to completion and to use own initiative to resolve issues - Strong interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to succeed within a matrix management structure and build and maintain global team relationships - Able to work independently, proactively and under pressure against multiple deadlines - Proven project management experience with an ability to influence staff at different levels without reporting lines - Evidence of delivery in a similar role within a global organization would be an added advantage - The ability to work with senior management globally and act as a team player - Bachelor's degree held in a numerical subject - Qualification post-graduation in a numerical subject desirable - Flexibility to adapt to UK / US / HK hours
