As a member of the Global Research team in Bangalore, you will be working with the HSBC's Global Equity Strategy and Data Science team in New York, London and Bangalore To be an integral team member of the Global Equity Strategy and Data Science team within Global Research: - Work closely with Global Equity Strategy team on various research projects - Apply data science techniques to equity markets - Should be able to manage large data sets and build models on cross platforms - Conceptualizing any ad hoc requests on need basis - Should be able to work on models involving financial time series and textual data - Designing and agreeing solutions to problems with the relevant stakeholders - Track the progress of the projects and ensure implementation - Providing regular updates to the Lead and stake holders Skills/Experience Required : - Being proactive with a positive attitude and high energy are key personal/professional attributes. This role also requires constant communication and collaboration with teammates. The skills below are essential for a smooth functioning : - Extensive programming skills - Python, SQL - Knowledge of Factset, Datastream, Bloomberg - Excellent written & verbal communication skills - Ability to operate under pressure, multi-task, and be driven - Extremely meticulous and organised - Ability to both work in both a team environment and autonomously Qualifications : - Engineering Graduate (with preference for CFA/MBA in Finance) Experience : - 3-4 years of experience in the field of Data Science, Analytics or Finance
