Group Entity: Global Banking and Markets  Role Title : Junior Analyst, FXPB Client Service, Markets  Business/Function & Location :  Global Banking and Markets FO, Bangalore  Client Services - Client Service-FX Brokerage & Intermediary Services  Role Purpose :   HSBC's FX Prime Services is part of the Global Foreign Exchange Division with HSBC Global Banking and Markets and continues to receive keen focus from senior management as a product which expands and strengthens relationships with its key hedge fund and asset management client base.   HSBC's FX Prime Services has grown from strength to strength since its inception in 2010, and in an environment which has seen significant consolidation in the past year, it has built upon its balance sheet strength and close alignment with its FX franchise to build a platform which continues to service significant clients within the industry.  FX Prime Services gives clients access to the FX markets via an intermediation process. It allows HSBC's clients to execute in the market at the best price and then to face HSBC as the single counterparty: enabling clients- to benefit from our strength of credit rating and balance sheet.   The FX Prime Services is looking to set up a client facing team in Bangalore to support its sales and relationship management teams globally to maintain and grow its existing client base and future growth, and manage the key risks surrounding the business.   Specific responsibilities include :   - The role requires a sound understanding of the FX Markets and the ability to liaise with the trading desks to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of tasks / projects identified  - High analytical skills, problem solving ability, strong written and verbal communication skills is paramount   - Individual will be required to work extensively in an integrated team environment with the global FXPB Client Service team   - Work on multiples tasks/requests and have the ability to prioritize the work flow and meet pre-defined deadlines   - Be open to working varied shift hours/days based on business requirements  Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas  Impact on the Business/Function :   - Client management - understanding how clients operates and delivering added value to a client's day-to-day activities  - Acting as a first point of contact for resolution of client queries  - Acting as a first point of contact for resolution of HSBC operations queries  - Managing market risk and exception management: following up and resolving trade mismatches & unmatched trades for Executing Banks and Clients  - Trade event management (option exercises, NDF fixings)  - Trade capture - processing of any non-STP trades  - Growing trade volume by providing exceptional Client Service  - Daily reconciliations - internal and to clients   - End of day controls and handover to FXPB Client Solutions Desk Head for end of day signoff  - Perform key control activities:  - Ensuring that FX Prime has no market risk and that our client positions are completely hedged with the street  - Monitoring of trade flow to ensure deals are processed in a timely fashion  - Ensuring option barrier and expiry events have been processed based on client instructions  - Ensuring trade reconciliations have been completed and all issues resolved  - Ensure escalation to FXPB Client Solutions Desk Heads, Regional Head and/or Global Head of FX Prime where appropriate  - Manage strict timelines and proactively manage work priorities  - Accurate reports with consistent formatting   Customers / Stakeholders :   - Key resources in FX Prime Services globally - including Regional Heads and associated resources  - Internal Collaboration - Develops close and effective working relationships within respective Regions/ Countries/Functions /Businesses  - Feedback from key Markets stakeholders  - Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through timely delivery of quality work  Leadership & Teamwork :   - Builds strong relationships with counterpart resources in Onshore locations  - Responsible for ensuring seamless communication and teamwork between FXPB Client Service resources in Onshore locations and counterpart resources in Bangalore  - Establishing robust and sustainable markets capability in service center  - Effective support within the team and ability to step up   Operational Effectiveness & Control :   - Lead the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed to deliver FXPB Client Service responsibilities  - Establish and maintain a robust and efficient control environment across the team together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that ariseDefine and implement an effective governance structure for GBM SC  - Build a culture of continuous improvement by leading through example and idea generation  - Adequately manage various projects and initiatives leading to process improvement   Major Challenges :   - First offshoring of Markets Front Office roles so strong support and guidance will be required for the business  - A rapidly changing regulatory environment with extensive impacts on the Markets businesses  - A high risk and sensitive set of functions potentially to be offshored so it is critical there is no negative business or client impact  - Increasing focus on business continuity delivery  - Availability of appropriate resources and conflicting priorities across the business  Role Context :  By the end of 2016, the GBM footprint across the GSCs will be over 7000 FTE across 7 centres and 6 countries. The Service Centres will be supporting all business lines within GBM including Markets, HSS and Banking. Within the GBM Service Centre responsibility is also some of the global functions support for the businesses including for example Wholesale and Traded Risk.   The Markets Front Office roles ned to be integrated in to the wider GBM Service Centre structure whilst ensuring appropriate segregation with an effective support structure both within Markets as well as the wider GBM and HOST structures.   Management of Risk :   The jobholder will also continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.   This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.   Also by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.  Observation of Internal Controls :  The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.  The jobholder will implement the Group compliance policy by containing compliance risk in liaison with Global Head of Compliance, Global Compliance Officer, Area Compliance Officer or Local Compliance Officer. The term - compliance- embraces all relevant financial services laws, rules and codes with which the business has to comply.   Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications :  - 2 years + experience in client facing roles within the FX market or FX Prime Brokerage  - Understanding of FX, NDFs and Options preferred  - Strong interpersonal skills including excellent communication skills (verbal and written)  - Ability to build & foster relationships both internally and with clients and external vendors  - Pro-active approach to all client related issues  - Problem solving and analytical skills  - Ability to work under pressure  - Strong time management skills
