Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role): The Structured FI team globally operates out of the principal trading hubs in London, Hong Kong, New York and Paris. The team in Bangalore is being set up as an extended team to work in the areas of Structured Credit &amp; Financing and Vanilla &amp; Exotic Rates. The work involved would include: - New trade review, testing and pricing - Risk management and P&amp;L analysis - Collateral and position monitoring and marking - Documentation review - Ad-hoc quantitative analysis - Automation of desk processes - Desk-specific MI Key activities and decision making areas: 1. Impact on the Business/Function: Targets: - Ensure delivery of tasks as per the pre-defined timelines - Evidence of effective support for problems / requests 2. Customers / Stakeholders: - Key resources in FI team in Bangalore - GBM Service Centre management in Bangalore - Global Structuring team, FI Trading and Sales as well as FI management in London - Control groups relevant to FI Structured business - Market Risk, Credit Risk, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Reg Capital, Operations etc. - Internal Collaboration - Develops close and effective working relationships within respective Functions /Businesses - As part of the team to develop a good relationship with the London team, to ensure communication lines are fluid. Targets: - Feedback from team members - Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through timely delivery of quality work - Feedback from resources in London - Timely completion of tasks and successful execution of transactions where involved. 3. Operational Effectiveness &amp; Control: - Develops the infrastructure and capabilities needed to enable operational effectiveness and the delivery of the desired results and ensures that decision making is delegated to the most appropriate people - Offer solutions to problems, supporting with the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed - Ensure adequate controls are in place in all relevant processes Targets: - Infrastructure and capabilities have measurable impact on operational effectiveness - Adequately work on projects and initiatives leading to proven process or functionality improvement - All processes are designed with adequate controls built in Major Challenges (The challenges inherent in the role that require a continual test of the role holder's abilities): - First wave of offshoring of Markets Front Office roles so strong support and guidance will be required for the business in identifying suitable tasks and designing processes to make best use of resources - A rapidly changing regulatory environment with extensive impacts on the Markets businesses - A high risk and sensitive set of functions potentially to be offshored so it is critical there is no negative business or client impact - Increasing focus on business continuity delivery - Availability of appropriate resources and conflicting priorities across the business Role Context (The environment and operating conditions of the role including the extent of guidance and authority): By the end of 2017 the GBM footprint across the GSCs was over 7000 FTE across 7 centers and 6 countries. The Markets Front Office roles need to be integrated in to the wider GBM Service Centre structure whilst ensuring appropriate segregation with an effective support structure both within Markets as well as the wider GBM and HOST structures. Management of Risk (Operational Risk / FIM requirements): - The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators - The jobholder will adhere to all relevant processes/procedures. - Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators. - Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy. Knowledge &amp; Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.): - 5+ years- experience in Structured FI trading (either in Rates or Credit) - Strong FI product knowledge and knowledge of pricing models, ideally would have worked on financing and bespoke solutions. - Masters Degree from top tier management school or financial engineering school - Excellent communication and problem solving skills - Programming ability desirable (with knowledge of Python or VBA) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with very strong analytical skills. - Motivated and a quick learner - Proven ability to prioritise workload effectively in line with business priorities - Aptitude to pick up programming languages.
