Global Service Centres Our Global Service Centres are an integral part of Global Operations. Employees based there manage day-to-day customer transactions and processes for the global businesses. This may include transactions for our retail bank such as processing loans, credit cards, insurance and mortgage applications, opening new accounts, and managing customer enquiries through contact centres and digital platforms. Employees in the Global Service Centres also run and manage operations for commercial bank customers. Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role) The Global Markets Control Office helps GM business areas with the embedding, remediation and improvement of the control environment with respect to key risks to Markets and BSM businesses. The GM Product Risk team has been established to provide oversight and control over products made available across various HSBC customer bases, including CMB. In the context of CMB, the GM Control Office ensures that GM sales activities comply with and adhere to the GM and CMB Product Governance frameworks, with availability and suitability in line with approved target client segments. This role is focused on the specific ownership of activities underpinning the CMB Product Governance framework within the GM Product Risk team, operating closely with worldwide GM Corporate Sales teams, global asset classes and product specialists, COO and CCO colleagues, CMB stakeholders and GM Risk Stewards across all functional areas. Liaising closely with each of these stakeholders, the candidate will assist GM teams on specific items such as timely due diligence reviews, new business launches, and product demise processes for local, regional and global submission. This is a challenging, wide ranging and highly visible role at the core of GMs Product Governance activities with Global CMB whilst the business is undergoing a great deal of transitionary change. As a consequence, the role will provide the right candidate the opportunity to help embed new processes whilst also playing a key coordination role on wide variety of reviews and product launches across the business globally. The candidate must be willing to take a proactive approach and the job requires strategic judgement, excellent organizational skills and the ability to establish strong working relationships across a vast GM and CMB Front Office network to support, coordinate, influence and inform stakeholders for both routine and ad-hoc product governance activities. Discuss these with the local manager and London Control Office for implementation - Identify and implement best practices - Validate current procedure manuals and improve where required - Identify and assist in closing process gaps Qualifications - External Skills/Experience Required - Minimum 5+ years of experience - Experience in a Global Markets business are or a Product Governance / Control related context is preferable - Good knowledge on Financial Markets, Products, Regulations, Trading strategies and Terminologies - Ability to learn and grasp new systems, tools and databases quickly - Consistently applies attention to detail and is able to represent the team with accurate reporting at senior levels - Applies ongoing learning and is interested in further developing GM product knowledge - Very strong interpersonal skills and experience of working effectively and independently in a small team and also collaborate with global colleagues across a range of seniority levels. - Able to interface with very senior member of GM Front Office management effectively. - Excellent communication skills (verbal &amp; written) - Proficient in MS Office (incl.
