What is the focus of the function? Ensure we are compliant to any changes in HR laws and we have our systems and processes in place

Why does this job exist? To ensure adherence and compliance to HR laws

How does the role add value? The role will add value as the person we hire will be the single owner in the HR compliance landscape for all G businesses based out of India. He/ She will ensure that we as company are aligned to all the HR/legal laws applicable to us.

Who are the key relationships for this role? All Company India businesses, labour authorities/ govt authorities, industry bodies and associations

What are the minimum prior qualifications to be an applicant for this role? HR Law qualified/ IR degree would be a plus

What are the key initiatives and challenges facing this role in the next six months to three years? A lot of changes are happening in the legal environment, as a company we need to know if we are prepared for these changes or if we need to make any amendments in our policies/processes to be complaint to the changes with minimal cost impact

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

- Person will be the single owner for HR and legislative compliance for G India.

- Person should be able to help enable a legal view and look at the legal aspects of HR compliance from systems, process and any structural aspects.

- Candidate will have to be well networked outside G to be able to represent us in external legal/HR forums

- Deal with the issues that HR professionals must contend with in majority of their work functions, predominantly in overseeing and managing duties related to employee benefits, minimum wages and overtime.

- Facilitating execution of necessary compliance related frameworks, policies and changes

- Work closely with leaders inside and outside of HR to define Company's position on a variety of HR compliance topics (i.e. data privacy, information management, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements and penalties).

- Well versed with affirmative action programs and policies, government contract and wage laws, human resources compliance audits, non-competition and confidentiality agreements.

- Must be familiar with a wide array of different statutory and regulatory authorities in order to effectively and lawfully deal with company personnel.

- Adhere to HR regulations, policies and governing entities that human resource must comply with. Insurances, Wage regulations, Employee contracts,severance pays and remunerations(payment of bonuses, gratuities, insurances etc)

- Responsible for Internal Controls (SOX and Company based controls), liaising with HR teams as appropriate on audit participation, status and action plan management.

- Accountable for ensuring that policies and controls that put Company at risk are implemented in a timely and accurate fashion

Represent the HR compliance agenda on cross-discipline initiatives and committees.

- Serve as liaison to internal and external legal representation as needed.

Required Skills and Capabilities :

- Expert in Indian Labor Laws & their applicability in a services environment.

- Strong interpersonal skills

- Demonstrated ability to work as part of cross-functional teams, explain complex or nuanced subject matter, and think creatively to resolve multi-faceted situations.

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

- Good analytical skills to identify issues and trends and an ability to absorb detailed information quickly

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics

- Strong influencing and problem solving skills

- Results oriented: ability to drive change with positive, imaginative and flexible approach

- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions

- Ability to operate in a matrixed environment

- Ability to understand the business implications of decisions

- Initiative: identifies gaps in service and proposes how to add value

- Good knowledge of ER policies, practices and philosophy

Experience :

- Prior Industrial relations background or govt. body/labor department. Pan India experience is required

- Experience advising on ER issues and actively managing ER cases, including disciplinary issues, grievances, performance monitoring and investigations

- Help create awareness of relevant policies, procedures and programs through formal training and communications.

- Oversight for global management and coordination of the Policies and Procedures and Compliance and Internal Controls processes

- Responsible for Internal Controls (SOX and Company based controls), liaising with HR teams as appropriate on audit participation, status and action plan management.

- Accountable for ensuring that policies and controls that put Company at risk are implemented throughout the GU in a timely and accurate fashion

Other responsibilities include:

- Coordinate any Board or Leadership requests for information related to employment matters.

- Represent the HR compliance agenda on global cross-discipline initiatives and committees.

- Serve as liaison to internal and external legal department as needed.

- Act as HR point of contact to other functions, such as information management and data security, to help create awareness of policies and programs and ensure compliance.
