Purpose of the role:

The Human Resources Business Partner role contributes to company performance by providing tactical and strategic consulting on people and organization development strategies in support of the business objectives. Performs HR-related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group. Will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations consultation; policy interpretation and application, performance, and compensation management consultation; and talent management consultation. May carry out additional responsibilities to include organizational design, employee development initiatives and training.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Partners with leadership to align HR strategy to business strategy.

2. Acts as a change agent to business through process design and approaches that support change and transformation

3. Analysis of trends and metrics in partnership with HR peers to develop solutions, programs and policies.

4. Provides day-to-day coaching to leadership on a variety of actions including employee relations issues, policy interpretation and application; talent management and development; and organizational design consultation.

5. Co-facilitates the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program for new hires.

6. Leads and/or supports annual HR cycle deliverables to include performance management; merit and bonus awards; benefits enrolment; etc.

7. Evaluate issues, patterns, and trends to provide proactive insights for HR solution and program designs i.e., training to address certain needs, and detailed exit analysis.

8. Quarterly focus groups and work on the findings with the leadership teams.

9. All other duties assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

1. Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles & practice of HR including employment law & compliance requirements.

2. Proven client management and business literacy skills Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.

3. Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.

4. Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.

5. Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment; to set high personal goals and work independently; to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.

6. Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues.

7. Proven acuity in MS Office suite, internet, and database management.

Background Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field

2. Five (5) to Seven (7) years of HR experience with at least two (2) years of experience in HR Business Partner experience
