Role Title : General Manager - Senior DataArchitect

Location :Bangalore, India. Should be willing to travel domestic and international

Role Dimensions :

The role is an integral part of the organization's overall digitization strategy towards building an agile and mobile enterprise portfolio of IT services and products for internal and external customers

- It entails understanding the current enterprise applications and the associated data architecture and customer engagements to design, direct and implement data architecture for existing and new developments. The architecture should provide a robust framework for applications intended for long term use.

- The role reports to the Vice President - Office of the CIO. The role will involve defining and managing the overall data architecture for the enterprise to yield business benefits in terms of operational efficiency, optimization and intellectual property generation.

- The role will manage a team of junior and experienced resources.

Desired Knowledge, skills and attitudes :

The ideal candidate should :

- Understand and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions.

- Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models.

- Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy.

- Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects.

- Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.

- Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models.

- Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments.

- Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.

- Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.

- Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.

- Examine new application design and recommend corrections if required

Education Qualification and Professional experience :

- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering or computer science

- 12 to 16 years of experience in the Data Warehousing and Data Management area

- Extensive Knowledge and hands on experience on RDBMS like SQL Server and Oracle

- Minimum 5 years of proven experience covering the following areas:

- Information Systems analysis and design

- Data Architecture and/or Data modelling

- Proven ability to drive diverse teams from conceptualization to implementation

- Experience in EA tool training, driving internal awareness and cross team engagements will be a plus

- Solid knowledge in application architecture, application portfolio management, IT planning and Transformation, defining Dashboards etc.

- Hands on project management and team lead experience in various EA Solution implementation projects

- EA/BPM tool knowledge will be preferred
