About the Role

The Market Insights analyst will cover both market intelligence and competitor intelligence aspects for HP Enterprise Storage hardware business unit.

- The analyst will support part or all of the following deliverables:

- External analyst (IDC, Gartner) guidance process

- Market segmentation

- Market share and size reports

- Support Strategy Projects like installed base analytics, product comparison studies, competitor profiling/benchmarking

- Ad hoc requests

The analyst is responsible for providing market/competitive data, information, and analysis to stakeholders to enable them to conduct opportunity assessment, business planning, monitoring growth, support field sales, etc.

The analyst must learn the nuances of the Enterprise Hardware - Storage Business and help provide insights on the addressed and potential markets, their related technologies, M&As; insights on the established and niche competitors, their strategies, marketing moves, partner/channel initiatives and their impact on HP

The role is responsible to help the Storage BU in terms of - proving actionable business insights and market forecasting- using the secondary research methods & data analysis techniques that help position HP strongly vis-- -vis competition. As part of the role, the person is required to:

- Connect with Business to identify key competitors in verticals/segments/geographies being studied

- Study and leverage syndicated research from Gartner, IDC and other leading sources to understand trends & drivers of the technology market

- Derive intelligence on product portfolio & service whitespace

Skills required:

- Excellent analytical capabilities - Analytical thinking skills to develop insights around industry trends, competitive intelligence, other ad hoc research projects

- Advance knowledge of MS Excel, Access and SAS/R Tools

- Strong secondary research skills

- Ability to work through unstructured briefs

- Zero defect work outputs

- Comfortable with synthesizing data and blending with qualitative research to derive insights

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills including proficiency in using MS-PowerPoint

- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a larger team

- Self-driven & Passionate

- Strong program management skills to work on and drive strategic projects

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:

- UG - Any Graduate / Any Specialization

- PG - MBA/PGDBM (Marketing/ Finance/Analytics)

- 4-6 years of experience in the field of data mining (must have), secondary research and consulting

- Strong domain knowledge of enterprise hardware market (Storage, Server, Networking) will be a significant plus
