Must : Experience on Automotive Components (Electro-Mechanical)

Position Summary

- Manage the entire plant operations efficiently to fully satisfy the current customer requirements in terms of quality, quantity & deadline, including defining plant objectives, ensuring plant upkeep without hampering production processes and outcomes, maintaining harmonious industrial relations and ensuring compliance with quality, safety, regulatory and statutory requirements and documentation standards Participate in long term capacity planning and plant upgradation to achieve HELLA’s objectives and represent the Company in Public.

Primary Responsibilities

POLICIES & PROCESSES

- Define plant objectives aligned to the Business’ objectives and participate in long range planning for the Business including expansion, conversion and equipment planning.

- Design and implement operational policies and procedures to manage operations efficiently and meet the production targets as per operational standards; develop and implement cost reduction and improvement programmes in the plant

- Review the feasibility of new or revised systems and procedures and oversees audits to ensure compliance with establishment standards

- Participate in key management and business processes including developing the annual operating plan for the plant, providing key inputs in monthly production planning and ensuring appropriate capital allocation for optimal utilisation of resources

- Make provision of safety equipment of all kinds within the legal framework, to create maximum-safety conditions for the health of our employees. Ensure implementation of the Environment Management System (in accordance with the Environment Management manual) and implement the environment-related requirements of legislation

RESOURCE PLANNING

- Ensure optimum utilization of plant capacity and plan for additional capacity (internally or externally) in case of shortage at own location

- Determine organisation structure and manpower requirements and oversee recruitment, training and career planning for all employees at the plant

- Maintain the plant budget to derive maximum benefit from deployed resources

MANAGING OPERATIONS

- Oversee the execution of production schedules based on the sales requirements and plant capacities and ensures achievement of production plans to meet marketing requirements through compliance on time

- Fulfill the strategic quality targets (technical and logistic) within the framework of target agreements and on-site audits

- Monitor and ensure timely execution of projects (expansion, upgradation or regulatory compliance)

EMPLOYEE & COMMUNITY RELATIONS

- Ensure a harmonious industrial relations for smooth functioning of the plant

- Represent the organisation in the community and/or local industrial bodies and promotes the organisation’s goodwill and interests

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

- Leadership with targets and delegation – sets annual performance goals, monitors performance and provides constructive feedback to improve performance.

- Identifies their training and development needs and ensures their fulfilment

- Develop and mentor subordinates to move to the next higher level of job. Develops career plans in consultation with HR

- Ensure compliance to Company policies and values

Internal & External Co-ordination

- Discusses plant objectives, performance, improvement measures and solves critical operational issues

- Worker representative committees

- Interacts to maintain harmonious relationships, guides and sets boundaries for the collective bargaining agreements

- Planning & Materials

- Interacts for production and material planning for the plant and ensuring availability of material to meet production plans

- Sales & Marketing

- Interacts to understand customer requirements, feedback, resolve queries, coordinates for new product commercialisation.

- Corporate Finance

- Coordinates on issues related to funds, CAPEX and OPEX.

- Corporate HR

- Interacts for HR issues related to staffing, capability building and career planning within own plant

- R&D

- Interacts on technology transfer and troubleshooting

- Corporate Quality

- Interacts on regulatory matters and compliance

External

- Key local vendors

- Finalises and awards contracts based on pricing and production requirements

- Local Government bodies, Industry associations

- Represents the organisation and promotes the organisation’s image; maintains favourable relationships

- Regulatory Agencies

- Represents the company at the plant level in all regulatory audits

Role Requirements

Qualification - Graduate / Post Graduate in Engineering

Work Experience - 18 -25 years multi-functional experience with at least 5 years experience in leadership position in operations

Special Requirements - Understanding and exposure to Automobile industry, preferably electronics based component industry

Circa - Flexible depending upon relevant experience (50-65 lac pa)
