Head/Vice President/Assistant Vice President - Technology - Travel Startup - IIT/NIT/BITS

Job Profile: Head of Technology (VP / AVP Level)

Reporting to the CTO, your responsibilities would include:

- This position would work very closely with product and business teams to understand product requirements - participate in product planning and then align the technology team to deliver the product.

- One of the biggest responsibilities of this position would be building a technology team through timely hiring / growing existing people and ensuring the team is operating efficiently and is being produced.

- This position would be responsible for building strong tech culture where people are motivated to achieve business goals by leveraging technology.

- This position would be responsible for taking long-term decisions related to technology/languages/ databases and infrastructure by taking into account current product + business understanding and evaluating long-term maintenance and running costs as product scales.

- Given the spread of the products and inter-product dependencies, this position would involve setting-up and reiterating processes to align all stakeholders from technology / QA / infra teams for the timely delivery.

- Design architecture, building a platform and be involved to build and create a high-quality developer environment and apply best in class management approaches that work.

The Successful Applicant

- Advanced knowledge of datastores (RDBMS/NoSQL/GraphDB)

- Advanced knowledge of caching technologies (Redis/Memcached/Aerospike)

- Strong knowledge of scalability concepts - sharding, replication, etc.

- Good knowledge of version control systems, build automation, deployment automation, containerization, CI tools, and frameworks

- Up to date with latest technologies / trends

- Possess strong leadership ability

- Outstanding people management and project delivery skills

- Good communication skills

- 10+ years of experience in mobile and web application development

- Tech stack: Android, iOS, Java, Angular, HTML, CSS, etc. is a must-have the requirement

- B.E/B.Tech/MS in Computer Science from a Tier 1 institute

- B2C / Travel scale experience is preferred
