We are looking for a Head of Design with a strong design culture to design a platform for the people of India. At Avail, the customer comes first. It is about getting in the shoes of your customers, understanding their needs, and solving for them.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the Product Design function & responsible for creating thoughtful, innovative, and usable experiences across our entire product.
- Partner with cross functional managers (Product, Engineering, Marketing and CLM teams) to evolve product development processes that enable delightful customer experience development.
- Be the voice of the user. Understand user needs and pain points through one on one interactions directly with users or product/business stakeholders
- Play a key role in shaping product roadmaps and influencing product discovery, strategy, and design.
- Help guide the design team meeting OKR objectives, while ensuring a high bar for quality.
- Motivate the team to create designs that constantly push boundaries so that the UX team becomes harbingers of customer experience and disruption
- You will be responsible for user flows and experience of different products on the Avail platform.
- Design, conduct and evaluate studies to understand the customer better and improve user experience.
- Creating mock-ups and track metrics related to identifiable factors that change the user experience.
- Understanding the design challenges which include implementing new features, improving existing ones, and enhancing the look and cohesiveness of the entire experience.
- Monitors and drive the product all the way from the creation of design concepts to the final launch of the product as well as post-launch monitoring and analysis.
- Build and lead a team of designers and researchers.
- Maintain an understanding of digital trends and practices with the goal of establishing a strong design culture.
Requirements :
- 8+ years conducting user experience design and research in a high-speed, consumer-oriented environment, including 3+ years managing a team of designers.
- Experience in developing products for tier-2 city audience or blue collared audience/nextbillion users.
- Lead a team of User Researchers to understand user thought processes and design solutions
- Detail-oriented, with strong organization and process skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time constraints.
- Thorough knowledge of user-centered design processes & iterative development processes.
- Passion and experience working with engineering, product, and marketing teams.
- Experience in current UX Design strategies and trends across the web and mobile platforms.
- Previous start-up and/or consulting experience is a strong plus.
- Strong experience design portfolio.
